I'm an ex-Chicagoan on the East Coast now, but coming for a visit that same weekend with the missus. We're going to the Oct 26 Hawks-Wild game and I went through the Blackhawk ticket exchange on the main site. The seats are typically cheaper the closer you get to the day of the game as ticketholders drop the prices. I went ahead and got myself a couple good seats as I didn't want to miss out but if you check out that exchange it's not bad, just all depends on where you want to sit.

Hey guys,

I am at the Hawks game November 17 and tied up during the day until the 20th - any games I could check out in the area (looks like the icehogs and wolves dont play those days) any good junior hockey or anything you guys could suggest?

You wouldn't want to go to Rockford anyway, if you got time to burn maybe the Admirals are playing up in Milwaukee if you're on a mission to see a hockey game.

Leaving nyc right now. What's the parking situation by the arena? How much are the lots and which ones are recommended? Any must see bars or restaurants near the arena? It's not like msg is it being surrounded by everything.... What other tips for a first timer...?

Hawkeyes in little Italy and Morgans in University Village also have shuttles. Hawkeyes has free parking a block away and drink specials every night. Personally I like Park Tavern which is right near the UC and West End is relatively close as well on Madison, without needing a shuttle.

Parking is easy. Plenty of lots around the UC. East of the UC on Madison, there are plenty of bars and places to eat. I always had pre game meals at the Palace Grill.

This weekend is Open House Chicago. A bunch of normally-closed places of architectural interest are open for free tours.

Thanks for the heads up on this. What else is going on this weekend in Chicago? Also I need some Chicago food places to try tomorrow... If already been to Al's beef and giardino pizza. The purple pig seems popular on yelp...

Is there a famous blackhawks bar/restaurant in the area?

Yea that worked out perfectly. Free parking ftw! I couldn't believe how many Chicago and Toronto fans commented about my Andy Bathgate Rangers jersey. Good time indeed. I wish we had standing room tickets at MSG....

Gotta say that you guys have some top notch fans.

Had more than a few beers bought for me (a Leafs fan!) and had some great hockey convos. Glad everyone had fun and I got to dance to chelsea dagger even though it hurt!

leafs game in downtown Chicago

Hi guys, I was sent here from the leafs forum. I'm in downtown Chicago tonight and am wondering if anyone knows of a bar where I can watch the leafs game. Thanks!

Might be tough, to be honest, with the Hawks and Bulls both playing tonight, so most barkeeps would probably just politely decline if someone tried to ask changing those games.

You'd have to find a hardcore hockey bar (would probably just be Hawks), Canadian bar, or Leafs bar to find that game.
