Surely he's not going to be traded so his value is kind of a moot point. He's already signed his ELC.

I don't know why, but Pronman always bugs me. It's like he can never say anything good about any prospect he's viewing. And if he does, he'll follow it up with some shot against the player. Guy's a tool.

I have been saying this for a while now. I think .7 might be too high, but if he can hit .5 it would be ideal. I trust we made the right pick, I don't trust homer all the time but the guy can judge talent and has a great team to judge it. When we pick defenders though it's usually in later rounds hoping they become something, we were usually picking late 20's and the majority of the time it's forwards who are there who project the best.

Flyers don't miss in the first round. By default Morin was going to be better than expected just by his draft spot.

i wonder how many goals he will score with that slapshot i'll say 14,

Jim Jackson: "Morin shot puck and Mcginn buries the rebound."

He had Morin graded as a second rounder so he's not going to get too wild with the compliments.

Kid seems to have good hockey sense and a great work ethic. He's already looking like he's made some strides since being drafted.

I know it's still early but sounds like the offensive production is coming easier for him this year. Good sign.

Hoping for .5 PPG from him. Would be excellent if he got that. He just needs to continue the progression of becoming an all around defender. Maybe once the flyers will have a defenseman the league is envious of?? I'm praying. I hope he ends the year in junior with 35 points or around there. If he goes over 40 then he went above and beyond what I expected. Don't know about the front office though

If he puts up 50 or so points we have ourselves a legitimate player. That would be ideal. Those numbers would remind me of my favorite dman in the league

I would be happy with Jamie Oleksiak type of production.

Its a bit early to assert that they should have taken Brodin over Couturier, and its definitely premature to suggest that Maatta was the better pick over Laughton.

Subban was a 2nd rounder--so that's not relevant to the point. JVR over Pacioretty wasn't exactly a reach at the time, and it is still quite plausible that the former ends up with the better career.

Certainly hasn't been proven that Brodin will be better than Couturier or that Maatta will be better than Laughton (or that Pacioretty is better than JVR for that matter).

But your logic is horribly flawed. Every team in the league passed on PK Subban once, 12 teams passed on him twice. Does that mean every team in the league missed in the draft? In 03 the Flyers missed on Zach Parise and Shea Weber to draft those bums Jeff Carter and Mike Richards. Boy, what a horrible draft.

That list in no way invalidates the claim that the Flyers don't miss in the first round.

I don't think you understand how arguments work.

You mean to tell me that listing names and then typing "says hi" like an idiot isn't a good way to win an argument? Nobody told him that.

The only three 1st rounders I can think of in recent memory that the Flyers drafted that didn't go anywhere at all in the NHL and became busts were Sittler (injuries), Bowen and Ouellet. This is in the past 20+ years too. They have a pretty high rate of good players from the 1st round that become somebodies.

Especially since most of them are late 1st round.

Love how olli matta is being used by some people as if he is a super star in the NHL. Guy hasn't even played 10 games and is far from being an established player, but he's got potential!!!!!!!! We all love that!!!! If Laughton becomes a 2nd line center, he was the right choice, because IMO matta isn't more than a 2nd pairing guy

Also every team in the NHL can say they missed other teams draft picks. Every team missed Benn when he was drafted, are we all sitting here pissed we didn't get him? It's probably the laziest argument you can use
