Period ends, telecast states they will come back immediately after commercial break for news on Taylor Hall injury. Telecast then switches to Ottawa feed content after the longest commercial break I've seen. No mention of Taylor Hall whatsoever until before the next commercial break where they state they will immediately come back to update on Taylor Hall. They instead come back to update scores and play around the league. As a viewer I can't help note I was blatantly lied to 3 times. What is this Fox network? What is this a Geraldo Rivera telecast?

Finally, they play the Principe segment updating news on the Taylor Hall injury. This being at the end of the period intermission.

Its funny that I KNEW this was going to be viewer manipulation and it was. Its despicable imo that a telecast manipulates viewers to stick around through all the commercial breaks and not switch dial while fans have concern about an injury to a star player.

Kind of below the belt editorial and reporting priority in the telecast imo. hard to justify switching to the Ottawa feed and giving that priority timing when the other clubs star player is down with injury ant that impending update was falsely pre announced 3 times. Absolute clown nonsense and SNET getting worse and worse at product delivery.
If they had a clue when they would have an update, I might be slightly put out.

They already had the update,(as much as they were going to have) they already referenced it, they already knew Gene was either already taped or on standby. They just didn't air it.

I'll wait to hear it from someone a little more reliable than Gregor.. 3 weeks seems pretty steep considering he played a shift after.

I'm worried. Playing a shift after means nothing. Hall played a shift after hurting his shoulder as well... look what happened there..

He is a tough kid and seeing him need to be helped to the room worries me.

Only to have his knee buckle under him. It's not good.

I hope whatever the injury, let it not include surgery to repair. If surgery is needed, hopefully it is only arthroscopic and nothing too involved or else Hall is done for the season.

Perhaps, Yakupov can step up and shine with this opportunity to play more and hopefully does well under Eakin's system.

I used to mock all the voodoo naturalpath stuff as snake-oil - my son injured his shoulder in hockey tryouts a month ago, it's been bugging him to the point of waking us up at night for some kind of pain medication - we sent him for x-rays, the whole shebang, and nothing showed up - my wife's friend works on him with her hot stones and little hammers (medieval, yo), using... energy or something... he's 100% after one "treatment" - I'll never out of hand dismiss non-traditional healing again

Clean all spaces!!

I clicked the link hoping that Gregor would prove to have no idea what he's talking about.

Then I came across this part:

“The Oilers could use what is called a space clearing,” said Vander Haak. “I presume they have stagnant energy in that room.”

How do you get rid of stagnant energy in a dressing room?

“I would use tuning forks to clear the energy,” Vander Haak said. “There is also an oil I would use called Abundance. It is for competitive people and it magnifies the clear intention to help manifest the heart’s desire to perform.”

And then I felt better.

I actually laughed when I read this. Oh brother, might as well call Miss Chleo while we're at it.

At this point do we have anything to lose? Honestly, bring on the snake oil. I'm open to anything. ANYTHING.

That was something that had been bothering him since his OHL days. Not really comparable. It's possible he misses that much time but there has not been nearly enough info given to us that it's just ridiculous to even speculate how long he'll be out IMO. Unless Gregor knows something we don't.. (not likely)

"Space cleaning"? Yeah, that's awesome. Get some kook wandering around the locker room with tuning forks chanting gibberish.

And after that guy leaves, we can bring in a witch doctor to sacrifice some chickens.

And we could mount Power Pyramids on top of the players' helmets.

And why don't we replace the chairs at Rexall with meditation mats so that the fans can power the team with positive mental energy. And we could give away bongs before each game and turn Rexall Place into the world's biggest hot box. And change the name from Rexall Place into The All Natural Healing Place. And we could change the name from the Edmonton Oilers to the Edmonton Swamis because now that we have all this mystic power we won't need fossil fuel anymore.

Anyone know when he's scheduled for the imaging? Curious to see what the radiologist report shows.

Don Cherry disagrees. He said it was a dirty hit.

So the over-under looks like 3 weeks. I'd speculate (and that's all it is on my part... blind speculation) on over personally by the looks of that leg when he took that last shift.

As far as those saying it can't be that bad if he played on it for that shift. Some injuries you don't even know how bad they are until you actually try to put weight on the body part and use it... then you find out it's wet spaghetti. I'm betting it was a similar situation with Hall.. couldn't tell how bad it was until he actually skated and put pressure on the affected area.

Of course I'd love to be wrong and hope it's only a game or two at most.

If Gipsy Danger can fight with a broken knee AND missing an arm, Taylor Hall can still play.

As someone who went through a toren ACL/MCL it looks very similar to my incident and I tried playing a shift after, only took me 3 strides to know but he is in way better shape, saying that lets hope it is a strain or miniscus or something cause this is the last thing Oilers need.
