Tyler Seguin 10p through 7gp in Dallas. Looking like a legit 1C producing alongside Chiasson and Benn.

Only if he was playing center.

I'd still take Hall easily.

is anyone still upset we took Nurse over Nikushkin? There were a few meltdowns around here after Valerie lit it up against some rookies.

Nik has one assist in 7 games, -3, and 13 minutes a night.

The only reason he is in the NHL is that he forced his way into the lineup with the KHL threats. It looks like he is in over his head and a year of junior would be best for his development. Too bad the Stars are handcuffed.

To be fair I think Hall was pointless his first 7 NHL games or so. Or had minimal output.

for sure but Hall was a #1 overall pick and you expect those guys to stick. Guys picked at 10 are generally sent down for at least a year because it is better for their development.

With Nik, that was not possible as he clearly stated he would go KHL before being sent back to juniors. It was a huge risk to take him as there is now a development risk.

IMO, we dodged a bullet because a lot of us (including me) wanted Nik if Monahan was gone.

I suspect Lou will retire during the year if things continue the way they are.

Apparently they tried to forfeit a pick already, but missed some sort of deadline.

Lou didn't even know when the deadline was. Someone apparently asked him why they hadn't forfeited the pick that year, and he responded by telling them he still had time to make that decision. Of course, the deadline had actually passed when the question was asked, he just had it wrong.

In short, the reason they didn't give up their 29 OV in 2012 was because Lou screwed up.

A move like that cost Talon his job in Chicago, but obviously Lamoriello gets a little more rope in Jersey.

Mike Johnson essentially blaming Taylor Hall for getting himself injured on Saturday night. This man literally has nothing of substance, ever, to add to any sort of intelligent debate or discussion, I could care less if he was a pro for however long. He's either completely wrong on a fairly regular basis or just states things that are already obvious.

How on Earth is it his fault?

Does this tool not remember how Gryba brutally took out Lars Eller last year?

Talk about a team getting carried by their goaltending. Avs are almost being tripled in shots by the Penguins, yet up 1-0 in the 3rd.

Giguere is absolutely stoning the Pens. Looks like Giggy from 10 years ago tonight.

Giggy with the shutout.

Det-SJS going to OT after 0-0 after 3 periods. Howard standing on his head for DRW.

True enough but the Avs are so overrated right now. The team looked atrocious outside of Giguere. Pittsburgh flat out dominated that game.. 34-14 in shots. Wow..

Oh absolutely agreed. They're getting outshot in most of their games but their goaltending is holding them in it.

It's just frustrating when J.S. Giguere is sporting a .981 sv% and a 0.66 GAA and then you look at our goalies...

They have given up 304 shots in 9 games(33.7 per game) while only giving up 12 goals. The Oilers have given up 274 shots in 9 games(30.4 per game) and have given up 36 goals. They sit at 8-1, while the Oilers are 2-6-1.

One need not look any further than between the pipes.

Yup. This team gave up 18 more goals than we did last year with more or less the same defense.

Their goaltending is bailing them out big time. You shouldn't win games when you're outshot 34-14.

Not only getting horribly outshot, they handed the Penguins several PPs and only won 37% of the draws.

West 2-0 against the East again today.

Only Western teams under .500 against the East are us and the Wild.

O'Brien, Hunwick, O'Byrne and Zanon were our top 4 D at times last season while Wilson and EJ were injured.

Only one of them is still in the NHL, and he's with the Flames.

Fair enough, but weren't you guys ready to run Hejda out of town last year?

Your defense is different, but it's not drastically improved.
