I'd love him but realistically the price would be pretty insane

Prospal would be a good ad for the rest of the year with how injury prone the team is and having no decent offensive callup in Hamilton

Galchenyuk - Eller - Gallagher
Prospal - Plekanec - Gionta
Bournival - Desharnais - Bourque
Moen - White - Blunden/Holland

Injured: Prust, Pacioretty, Parros, Briere

Well Florida. They'll need salaries down the road to get to the floor. It's a hockey trade. Desharnais with the terms of his contract and Kopecky with his two years left. It makes sense.

I doubt the jets take that offer they aren't rebuilding and he's a tremendous talent one of the most underrated guys in the league

Alex Chiasson
Quinten Howden
Marco Scandella
Simon Despres
Shawn Matthias
Evander Kane

Those are the players I would go after. Some will cost us a lot, some won't cost as much. They would all be significant contributors if acquired with the right pieces.

Why on would the Jets move Kane?

I wouldn't mind MB taking a look at Chiasson, but I feel like he'd be more expensive than necessary.

I would definitely target Matthias if I was MB. The value is about right and we wouldn't need to give up anything too important. I wonder if the Panthers would really move him though considering their in full rebuild and hes a young 6'4 center.

Jets might move Kane if Pacioretty is on the table. I feel as if Kane would be a better fit in MTL and he plays a much more physical style than Patches. Overall, I feel as if he'd be an upgrade. That's a long shot though and more for personal interest.

Chiasson might be available considering Dallas's depth at RW. Glennie, Ritchie, Nicushkin, and Chiasson all play on the right side. I think he'd be an excellent option for our future top-6. He's a pretty well-rounded player offensively and, of course, brings the physical style. The price would be high considering his recent production but.... might be a good player to take a chance on.

Matthias is a diamond in the rough IMO. He's never played with very talented players and he can do it all..... except for score. He's also pretty well known for being a good team guy and using his size on occasion. Putting him with good line mates might help his production. At the worst, he could end up as a David Moss-type of player.

Scandella sounds like he could be the two-way defenceman with size we need to replace Bouillon. He's a minute eater and a fairly reliable defenceman. Local as well. I'd really keep an eye on him as there isn't much space in MIN for him and it seems like he's lost some trust with management.... his minutes are way down.

If you look at Scandella's career he would hardly qualify as a two way defenseman... he has hardly put up any points at any level and he doesn't hit much... maybe he is a shot blocker but I would say we have players in our system who are already better than he is or will be shortly.

I don't know what the price would be for Evander Kane, but if I was a gm, i would look into it. His value on the trade market will probably never be as low as right now because he's underperforming and he frustrates his coaches with bad plays and bad penalities. Plus Winipeg is dying for results right now, so I believe he may be reachable for less than his actual value. But still, it doesn't mean the price isn't too high nonetheless. Worth a look and a call.

Evander Kane seriously? You go after him with what?

I given up on his case after he was drafted. Those kinds of player you don't trade for in these days and age.

You just spoke about a forward being done if they score less than a D-man like Gorges. He's tied.

nice try though.
Gionta: 34 years old, has scored a total of 232 goals in 702 games. Broke 60+ pts once in his career.
Heatly: 32 years old, 360 goals in 796 games, 2 b2b 50 goal seasons.

Heatly worst season in the past 4 years is still better then any of Gionta's best in the same time span.

I can play this game too!

The kind where you need quantity to make up a proposal because you don't have the quality to give up.

That is a reasonable suggestion

Yeah just a hunch but maybe they've given up on Kreider and might be shopping him. He's slotted to play on their top line tonight.

Edmonton worth a call. I would personnaly just ask what they would be ready to give for Tinordi. Just ask. Then evaluate. What they would be ready to give might be surprising.
