You know, it really shouldn't be playoffs or "blow up the team" this year. Playoffs should be the expectation but realistically I want them to be in the mix come April.

New coach, new systems, personnel turnover.

This team won't be able to stand and watch Hall skate around for the next month.

I'm fine with this, especially as speedyturtle (well done!) says 3-4 weeks. Obviously MacT is going to give us the worst estimate.

We have good depth on wing, this could focus the guys a bit and have a positive effect in a strange way.

Realistically you get Yak going and the team really isn't missing much. Now can Yak get it going?

Well I figure the next 4 weeks basically shows if this team will make a playoff push, or even improve off last year, or we are seriously a lotto team again.

That's good. I was worried it was going to be along the line of 4 months after initially seeing the injury.

We have depth on the wing, so hopefully Yak, Eberle and Hemsky can step up and provide some offense in Hall's absence.

Very relieved about this. Whew...

Even teams missing basically an entire top line?

Moving Hemsky for a plug like many suggested in the off-season looks like a pretty stupid idea now, eh guys?

Losing Hall sucks, but it gives some other guys a chance to step up. And when Hall returns, we might have a little depth on our hands.

I am not buying it, bet its 4 weeks now, then it goes 6 weeks, and then Surgery, same thing happened with his Shoulder 2 years ago.

Expecting the worst with this Organization.

At this point, we probably have to account for 20 games of injury recovery time for Taylor Hall every season.

Why? This injury is completely random and has nothing to do with Hall's body or playing style.

Kinda. I agree this wasn't a reckless play by Hall but he still thinks he can just power through, and I think that's part of the reason Gryba got the knees in. If he just turned and took the hit, I'm not sure he would have been hurt at all.

Since that hasn't happened to the Oil at this point it is irrelevant. But yes, a good team should be able to overcome that over the short term (say 1 or 2 weeks).

This isn't hemsky who's body fell apart. This is a kid who has had freak accidents and an injury from junior.

Agree. Pittsburgh was still a 1st place team without Crosby and Malkin.

4 weeks is a lot better than I was expecting.

He'll be back before December, missing upwards of 15 games.

Someone will have to step up and take this team on their shoulders. Might I suggest YakCity?
