I guess this is as good a place to blow my e-horn. As your Official HFBoard Blog Writer, my latest contribution to the history of sports journalism can be found here. It's got to be good; I quote Shakespeare AND Aesop! You just don't get that type of literary versatility in the standard papers.

Originally read "annus horribilis" as "anus horribilis." One of these has a vastly different meaning than the other, when you do that.

Yeah, I triple-checked my spelling on that one. Then again, "horrible anus" might be appropo to describe this season.

The Flyers are still a terrible offensive team and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Well at least the Ranger suck too so there is a slim chance we could win, but we always seem to play like crap against the Rangers the past few years so we probably won't.

I agree with you. It may be a good move for Giroux also. I think with the rags coming in to town this very well may be the game to jump start this team. If they cannot get up for the rags then it's really time to shake them up. To date I have been really disappointed with the play of a lot of players. But Talbot,Coburn andTimonen have done nothing and as so called leaders they have been no shows to date.

I cancelled plans tonight so I could watch the Flyers.

Two things wrong with that:

1) I cancelled plans to watch the 2013/14 Flyers.
2) The game is tomorrow.

The Flyers will win this game 9-2. It's indisputable fact at this point.

I like the line up of:
12-28-40
15-10-93
24-14-17
25-18-36

44-26
5-8
32-22

Rosehill, Newbury, Gill

Now when Hartsy comes back, hopefully Saturday, I wouldn't mind seeing:

12-28-40
19-10-93
15-14-24 or 24-14-17
36-18-17 ...15-18-36

with Talbot, Rosehill and Gill as the scratches.

I just don't think its fair to put McGinn on the 4th line after playing as well as he has, and Simmonds shouldn't have the top 9 locked up if he doesn't perform well, let alone produce.

EDIT: Newbury loaned to AHL

Flyers- Great week of hard practices, motivated to prove themselves, getting back a key player, lineup shakeup, goaltender playing well

Rangers-goalie getting first NHL start

So I guess we are going to lose in a huge blowout.

The Rangers are really bad right now. We kind of have to win this game.

No, the Flyers typically help rookie goalies get the first and only shutout of their entire careers.

Anyone from Atlanta around here? I'll be there for work tomorrow, and I'd like to catch the game. Any places downtown that have CI?

Oh, man I hope the plans weren't good ones. Lesson learned?

I can check with an Atlanta-based mod. Give me a moment.

That's because they used to be a tight checking team. That's no longer the case though.
