I liked what I saw of him in the past.
No offense, but he doesn't make mistakes defensively. Doesn't make stupid pinches like Bouillon and Gorges.

He had top 4 times on the Sharks? I thought he was their extra dman at the time. It says he was playing 17:47 minutes/game on the Sharks in 06-07.

I definitely see it. Seems like Tinordi and Beaulieu are penciled into our line-up in the future.

However I think this move is a no brainer for the Habs. The options with Pateryn are threefold;

1: He proves that he is a valuable commodity and is used as a trade chip.
2: He impresses enough that he surpasses Beaulieu or Tinordi on the depth chart.
3: He shows that he is still not ready for the NHL and continues to be one of our better dmen in Hamilton.

While hes not an offensive D he has a big shot. Could be useful for the second PP wave

Well played.

From last year and this preseason I think Big Pateryn is positionally solid, has a bit of nasty and some offensive ability. Go Greg!

Maybe we'll see no more Frankie Bou on the PP ever again.

With Therrien's man crush on him, it'd still be Bouillon-Pateryn

Pateryn recalled

Just don't partner him with Bouillon unless you are really good with taking passes that are in your skates, I guess Tinoridi could just not adjust to that. Bouillon should be sitting or gotten rid of

I can't look at the list of players who play defense on our team and feel warm and fuzzy. Do you?

The Habs really need a right-side defenceman with size at the moment. Only PK and Diaz shoot right...and Diaz is hardly a rock in his own zone.

Breaking in Tinordi and Beaulieu on their wrong side, or playing Bouillon on the right is bad policy. On the other hand, in the absence of Tinordi and Beaulieu, the Dogs have nothing but right-handed guys: Pateryn, Nygren, Dietz, Ellis.

I hope Pateryn makes the most of this chance--he is exactly what the doctor ordered.

Do you think he has a chance to play more than 3 games? It seems this team likes to play musical chairs with their youth. Not good if you ask me.

Therrien won't put him ahead of Boullion. Don't know what we would do without him.

I only watch the games. So it's not like I'm in Therrien's head like you guys.
But with Emelin and Murray out, and Gorges and Diaz playing less than stellar,
and the rookie Beaulieu in the line-up, Therrian only found 16 and some minutes
for Bouillon. I only recall once this season that Bouillon played 20 minutes.

But perhaps when everyone is healthy, Therrien intends to increase his
ice-time. Many people are wise enough to get their complaining in early.

According to poster wineshark, he was 4th in ES ice time, so I may not have been entirely wrong.

Anyway, we should stick to Pateryn.

Been solid in Hamilton so far this year in every situation.

I'm hoping he pulls a Bournival....wait...what?

Tinordi has been given a relatively stable look since he's been with the big club since preseason. He's gone cold now and playing against lesser competition is not going to hurt him. He gets more ice time to iron out his game.

What? Huh?

No harm in seeing. Which is what I assume you meant. After all he is a bit
older. And he seemed to progress well in Hamilton.

Watching GP64 throughout the pre season I was convinced he was the most ready D. Drafted 5 years ago, four full seasons playing for Red Berenson has prepared him well. He really worked hard this off season and came to camp vastly improved. He is also 23 which is significant over our other D who are barely 21.
He is also a RH shot which is sorely needed. Not to mention he is 6'3 220 pounds. He also has a howitzer for a shot. Play the kid, send Beaulieu back and allow him and Tinordi to dominate in Hamilton. That would be the best thing long term.

Was more of a play on how bad it sounds to say "pull bournival", I forget everybody doesn't have a sick mind, you weirdos.

Really happy to see Greg coming up. This thread needs more "Hi Greg" from the vine Beaulieu posted on their road trip to Montreal before playoffs. Looks like he deleted it tho.

Patteryn stinks, this team is doomed if this is the best we can do for a recall.

I'm pretty sure the trade bait is Diaz.
