I think with Goulbourne you hope for Brandon Prust. PKer, shot blocker, solid defensively, will take on anyone, not a stiff offensively.

So it looks like our farm team is just as bad as the Flyers

are they at least playing the same system now?

The Flyers system was ranked dead last again.

So much for improvement.

Yann Danis 1-1-2 3.07 .865
Cal Heeter 0-2-0 4.88 .864

goaltending obviously isnt the problem in ADK. It must be the system. or that the players arent trying.

Danis is a solid vet to have down there, but Cal Heeter is awful.

At least next year Stolarz will be there. Not saying he's our answer between the pipes, but he's got some raw potential

An underrated Flyers prospect slowly making his way through the system is 2010 fifth round pick Michael Parks. The 21-year-old right winger is entering his third season with the University of North Dakota, and is having a stellar start to his year. In an October 18th win over the Miami (OH), Parks opened the scoring for UND, scoring on a rebound from his own shot. North Dakota would fall to Miami the next evening 6-2, but Parks was able to chip in a secondary assist. In 4 games this year, UND’s alternate captain has one goal and three assists in just four contests. With production like that, Parks could eventually find his away to the top of a Flyers system that isn’t necessarily stacked with strong forwards.

Tyrell Goulbourne may have been drafted more for his physicality than his scoring knack, but he’s shown an ability to find the back of the net so far this year with the Kelowna Rockets. In two games last week, Goulbourne scored twice. In a 6-0 victory over the Lethbridge Hurricanes, the Flyers 3rd round pick in 2012 calmly scored in what was essentially an open net after teammate Miles Bell was able to attract the attention of Lethbridge’s netminder. On the 18th, Goulborune was able to re-direct a Colton Heffley shot past goalie Ty Edmonds, as Kelowna went on to win 3-2. He now has two goals and four assists in 11 games.

Interesting/good stat.

Gostisbehere is leading his team in shots through 4 games. He has 25 (!) shots through 4 games. That's 6+ shots/game. Unreal.

The next closest player on the team is Daniel Carr at 11.

He has more than double the amount of shots than the next player on the team.

Dynamic offensive dman at the collegiate level. Should be interesting to see how he does in the AHL. His skating and offense will have to carry him.

How in the hell was Heeter on Team USA for the WCs last summer?

Nobody wanted to go over or were playing in the playoffs. Ben Bishop was their first choice then Heeter & then they added John Gibson.

I believe Heeter never actually played a game during the whole tournament.

I guess not, the US probably has the hardest time out of all the countries when it comes to getting their top players to come to this tournament.

Corey Pronman ‏@coreypronman 12m
35 save shutout for PHI's Stolarz has him lead the OHL in SV% at .933. Yes, a PHILADELPHIA goaltender leads a major league in SV%.

I look forward to us making the wrong choice between Mason and Stolarz!

If Mason is still our #1 in 3 years, I'll be very pleased.

I went to the London Knights - Erie Otters game tonight. Even though London lost 5-1, Stolarz was fantastic. He stopped 38 of 42 shots before London pulled him in the third and replaced him with Jake Patterson. Erie ended up with 49 shots. One of the things that I noticed tonight about Stolarz is that when London falls behind, he has a tendency to revert to his athleticism and get away from his technique. That's something that will need to be addressed and that's something that he will need to continue to work on. Other than that, he really gave London a chance to win. I will say this about this year's Knights squad - they really miss Zadorov and Maatta.

As for Erie, Stephen Harper (who was invited to Flyers camp), really stood out tonight. Just an incredibly smart player that plays a very simple and effective game. I hope that the Flyers some how or another end up offering him a contract because he could become a very good bottom six forward.

Too late. Need to draft him. Now if he goes undrafted again, they have another window to sign him.
