Trying to get Rockford some wins?

Kind of interesting to me.
No real mystery there. Ben Smith needs some playing time and as long as Q is happy with the play of Pirri and Smith, it's probably better that Hayes and Morin stay down (rather than sit out games up here).
....but then again ......... I know the season is very young but it seems to me that Ben Smith may have hit a bit of a wall here in Chicago. I hope I'm wrong but his play to date has been meh. If either Hayes or Morin play well enough in RFD, they could get the call at any time. I think Nordstrom will stay in RFD for a while, but you never really know with Q.

As for the defence, the injury to Kostka just gives Rozy and BB the chance to play more.

If they're gonna call someone up, it won't be until after the game tomorrow. They aren't going to call someone up and have them travel down there if they don't need a body to suit up tomorrow, which they don't. There is 1 extra skater there, so if they do have an injury before the game tomorrow they have cover.

Basically, it'd be a waste of cap $$ to call a player up before Saturday.

No cap space is gained by putting him on IR.

But Nordstrom did not even play in the Rockford wins on get his underperformingTues and Wed. night! WTF??? Puts a lie to Q's rationale for the send down..that Nordstrom would play more minutes and key situatoons...looks like Dent disagrees..makes no sense..I guess Q thought inserting Ben Smith would be the catalyst to get his underperforming offense...a.k.a. The 4 big guns plus Keith and Seabrook off their tuffets..but as we saw vs. FLA ...that manoeuvre did not produce much greater production and goal differential..So symbolically punishing Nordstrom for the laclustre comboned FAIL of the team's complacent big "stars" also Failed.

Nordstrom is dealing with a nagging injury.

Michal Handzus "day to day" with an upper-body injury. Could be out "a little bit," Quenneville said.

Why don't they just come out an say brain damage? Wouldn't surprise me if Rozsival has it, too.

He took a major hit at the end of the game there, that's probably what it is. (shoulder?)

Major problem here. Raanta cannot carry the full load. Simpson clearly isn't within hailing distance of being ready. Could you guys imagine relying on a platooned rehabbed Bulin + Raanta? Hitting full panic button. STAN!!! Oops, we'd better ascertain the extent of Crow's injury.

Bet they make a trade to pick up a journeyman like they did last year in Karlsson.

Despite what we witnessed last night, Q thinks it isn't too serious. We'll know more soon.

I know what Q said, but "not too serious" from Q basically means he isn't crippled for life. He says everyone is ok.
