I enjoyed watching the senators, but i wouldn't considered them my second favorite team. It's all vancouver canucks for me.

Thats why I love my FHL team so much because its sim based on NHL stats and you really need to know your hockey to be competitive in the league I am in.
Great post.

I guess it would still be the habs kind of but I sort of want them to lose a lot this season (not in the playoffs (unless they play the sens)).

I used to love the Montreal but a lot of their fans are just GRAGBGARAGHDGAHGJFHJDF. I also liked Toronto before the rivalry got super heated. I love Washington, Pittsburgh, and Buffalo is also cool.

In the west I like Nashville (Kariya is one of my faves), San Jose, and ofcourse Chicago.

If I had to pick i'd say Edmonton. With saying that I don't really cheer for them and I don't make a consistent effort to watch all their games. It's all about the Sens for me.

That brings a tear to my eye.

I guess I should also mention I like San Jose, Anaheim, and the Thrashers too.

To be honest, I "like" most teams, I mean hockey is hockey and I enjoy certain players and I like to root for teams that are fun or are underdogs.

I grew up as a passionate Montreal fan, and I still like the way they play, so I guess come playoff time they're my clear number 2. That said, I'm enough of a Sens fan that I will always hope for their opponent in the regular season if they are ahead of us in the standings, unless said opponent happens to be the Leafs. I also have an inexplicable fondness for Vancouer (because I need a western Canadian team and I can't bring myself to hope for a team from Alberta. Havent' they had enough luck out there already. Besides, Vancouver has also experienced their share of heartbreak, so I'd like to see them win.), Buffalo (because they are a small market overachieving team like us and their fans are just as passionate. They have also had their share of heartbreak), and Colorado (because I loved watching Sakic, Forsberg, and Roy in their primes. Not so big of a fan anymore).

I always go for the Sharks in the West. I was actually a Sharks fan first, before I lived in Ottawa for a few months in 2002.

My second favorite team I guess would have to be the Binghamton Senators...it's all Sens for me, all the time. Nobody else matters. The only time I would cheer for any other NHL team would be the last Canadian team left in the playoffs (i.e. Edmonton and Calgary the past couple of seasons). My Canada does not include Toronto.

I was an Islander fan before the Sens rejoned the league, but that seems like a different lifetime, and with Yashin being there now, I would never have any positive feelings towards that organization ever again.

Looking forward to seeing the B-Sens play at 4pm!

My second favourite team is whoever is playing the Leafs every night. It could be anyone, on any given day...As long as they win, I will cheer them on, and if they lose, I wish the worst on them.
If i had to choose...I go with the Thrashers..2 reasons
1) Hossa...IMO the best player in the league right now.
2) Kovy, what he did to Crosby was great!

*What ever happened to Jani Hurme??*

My second fav team? Detroit, followed closely by the Habs. ( Yeah Hasek's there, but I try to ignore that)

I don't like Calgary either. Love Iginla and Kippursoff, but I can't stand Darryl Sutter.

I'm a big fan of the Minnesota Wilds. Bunch of local guys playing on that team including my cousin (4th overall pick in 2004, Benoit Pouliot). They're finally looking like a solid playoff team and Minnesota is probably the best hockey city in the US.

Montreal would be a distant 3rd I guess.

The Wild have a nice foundation. I really like Danny Irmen a hard hitting prospect from them should be up on the team full time in two years.

P-M Bouchard is also one of my favorite players, I think he has more talent then Gaborik, hope he reaches his potential.

I was a Ranger fan before being a Sens fan (Messier), so I still cheer for them when it doesn't affect the Sens. I also liked Edmonton (Messier) when I was a kid.

I grew up in Hamilton, so I used to like the Leafs. But since moving up here<cough> years ago, I've grown to cheer for the Sens. I can't cheer for the Leafs based on the rivalry and certainly not with Tucker on this team. Love watching Sundin and am interested in watching some of the younger players coming up.
Right now I'd say my 2nd favourite team is either Edmonton or Montreal. But I do like watching any hockey at any level. Especially my son's peewee team.

No 2nd fave for me.

Now teams I hate:
Toronto
Montreal (particularly Ryder)
Buffalo
Boston
Calgary
Carolina
New Jersey
Philadelphia

If I was to pick one, based entirely on style of play etc i'd go for San Jose.

A lot of you guys have Montreal as their second favorite team because you don't live on the Quebec side !!! If there's a match between Montreal and Toronto I will always cheer for the Leafs. I hate the Habs with a passion mostly because of their fans.

Second favorite team would have to be Boston. My dad's a Bruins fan and that may explain my hatred for the Canadiens.
