Not a Cards or Rams fan anymore.

The Blues are the only team in town that I devote myself to.

Admittedly though, I'm in the market for a new baseball and football team and have been looking for quite some time.

I root for the Cardinals but they fall way back of the Blues and Rams for me.

I could care less about the Rams. As for the Blues...well i chose to go to the Blues-Hawks game and turned down game 5 Cards tickets if that answers it. That said, I'm still a HUGE Cards fan.

If were to rank my teams as to who I root for, probably look like this:

1. Blues
2. Rams
3. Mizzou football
4. SLU basketball
5. Cardinals
6. UCLA football

I grew up in a household dominated by baseball so it was always shoved down my throat and quite honestly the fanbase is kind of irritating.

The worst thing in the world for me is when the Cards/Blues both on.

I've seen it before where an ENTIRE TWO MINUTE PP has been completed in the time it takes one AB to finish in baseball. Just waaaaaaaaaaaaay too slow a pace for me.

Born and raised in STL, it is kind hard not to be a Cards fan since we are a baseball town.

Not to mention the only way to stop my off-season hockey hangover is to watch Cardinals baseball

Go Cardinals!

it's hard not to be a Cards fan in STL. I'm definitely an NHL and NBA fan more though.

When the Cardinals r in the playoffs at the end of the season I watch them first before the Blues. At the end of hockey season I watch the Blues first before the Cardinals. I always DVR them both tho and watch the other game after.

While I can understand that people find the 11 minutes of true action throughout the course of a 2 1/2 hour MLB or NFL game has some on the edge of their seats, I look at them as distractions to a real sport which is the NHL.

The Blues are first in my house, above all.

But I enjoy watching the Cardinals and the Rams. If I have a Sunday off I try to make it a point to watch the Rams game. But if not that's okay too.

However it's not okay for me to miss a Blues game. At all.

Blues
Cards
Mizzou
Water polo
Tennis
Cricket
Cross country
Rams.

Obviously joking here, but for me it's always been Blues Cardinals with the Rams not factoring in at all. But it's always Blues number one.

I really don't care about MLB, although occasionally I'll watch the post-season. But I record the games and fast forward to the actual pitches. It only takes a few minutes to watch the action.

I have lots of friends who are Cards fans. I was rooting for them to lose so as not to compete with the Blues for fans dollars, but since they're in the WS I'm rooting for them to win. If they're going to be playing those games anyway, might as well win it.

I'm a Cards fan...which is the question we're supposed to be answering.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I have noticed that almost every guy that doesn't like baseball, couldn't hit and really didn't have a very good arm. Because if you have the skill set and you excelled you would stay with something and you learn the nuances of the game. For people that say it's slow, I came up with the saying "there's a lot going on when nothings happening."

But you don't have to watch.

It's definitely a slow game, there's no doubt about that.

My brother is a rabid fan who's into all the advance stats and sabremetrics and such and he always says that football is just as slow and I just don't see it.

If every snap in football was a false start (similar to a pitch in a baseball that doesn't result in the end of an at bat) I could understand what he's saying.

Maybe you can tell me, I don't know, but what is really going on at the start of the inning and guy takes a ball? The outfielders don't have any bases to back up because there aren't any runners, the infielders aren't covering any lanes because a guy isn't swinging.

It sure seems like nothing is going on.

See but I disagree. I love playing baseball for fun. I never got competitive because I traveled for soccer and golf way too much but I always enjoyed it. And it has nothing to do with whether you can hit or throw lol. Going to games is great. I just cannot watch on tv. There's too much standing and time between pitches for me to keep paying attention but that could just be my ADHD and why I chose soccer where you're constantly moving.

Feels like you're responding to my post....but I'm not sure why you insinuate I'm not answering the question.

I actually enjoy watching college baseball. I find it a lot more interesting because there is more emphasis on fundamentals and manufacturing runs (bunts, steals, etc) rather than the power hitting game. There's also a short double elimination format for the post-season which is a lot easier to get interested in, with more visible passion from the players. (I feel the same way about college football, too.)

I played baseball in high school, and was slated to be a starter after my sophomore season when it dawned on me that baseball is just not fun to play (to me). So I didn't bother going out the next year (and played soccer instead). But my best sport is ultimate frisbee (played intercollegiately).

I have no idea why a person has to be a good baseball player to be eligible to criticize the MLB game as boring. Seems like a weird prerequisite.

I just want the Blues to succeed. I appreciate that the Cardinals and Blues players and management seem to have a cooperative relationship. FSMW seems to foster that a lot. But the bottom line is that the Cardinals post-season takes away from the Blues. Did you see all the empty seats against the Blackhawks? That shouldn't happen.

Therefore I usually root for the Cardinals to not make the post-season. But since they're there, I hope they win. If they're not going to, I hope they lose in a sweep to just get it over with.

Baseball is the sport I played the longest... At least 9 years.

For someone to argue it isn't slow though, I don't get that one. There's no debating it.
