My player ratings from tonight's game (based on player value in game, 10 = best game ever, 1 = worst game ever, 5+ = net positive contribution, 5- = net negative contribution)

McGinn (4.5) Schenn (4.5) Voracek (7.0)
Read (9.0) Couturier (7.5) Simmons (5.5)
Hall (6.0) Talbot (5.5) Rinaldo (6.0)

Timonen (4.0) Gustafsson (6.5)
Grossmann (5.0) Coburn (5.0)
Streit (8.5) Schenn (5.5)

He's been playing games for a month now. I don't think his hand hurting is a valid reason anymore.

He actually looked better and scored a goal in the preseason.

It seems I missed an interesting one. Where Coburn gave up a ****** deflection yet a weird GWG.

I heard that the G line was very good, even though it didn't produce.

Mason is of course stellar.

I hate to be "that guy" But i was the one saying that Giroux's injury was nothing to take lightly. Any sort of injury to the tendons or ligaments to the hands can be devastating to one's fine motor skills as well as strength and since those are two important aspects of stick handling you can see the impact the injury could have.

I know it's early but anyone not worried about G is crazy. The guy is supposed to be our superstar, our leader, our point producer and he's showing nothing. He's played with McGinn, Hartsy, Vinny, Schenn, Raffl, Jake, Read at times and nothing. I'm not comparing him to Crosby but Crosby makes the players around him better. You can play Colton Orr with Crosby and Orr would net 10 goals. Giroux this season isn't showing that. He's played with every top player on the team and he's still failing. The onus is on the guys playing with him as well but if we wanna turn this season around, it begins and ends with G. We need him to be dangerous to open the ice for other players. He was even playing undisciplined tonight. Could of atleast had 2-3 penalties called on him. We need Claude to be Claude.

He's played well with Streit, who gets PP time and they are using Cob-Gro on the PK, so Luke just misses some shifts when Streit is on the PP.

Tonight G held Vinnie and Raffl back. Maybe put him at RW for a bit?

Anybody still using the injury excuse for Giroux is delusional. The guy hasn't been the same player since round 1 of the playoffs two years ago. He's just flat out terrible right now by his own doing.

Good- Read, Mason, Talbot coming back, and the W
Bad- just about everything else
Ugly-PP, and about everybody else, and the knee jerk trade that is ever looming over this club

I say keep him as is. We have all seen him be snake bitten before. He cares too much. But when he gets that first one it comes on strong after. He'll get the first one soon

With a win against the isles weare only 3 back of a playoff spot. Armed with that and tonight's win I think we win it 4-3. Our first 3 goal game!

This team is just very boring to watch....I'd rather listen to AM radio in the middle of nowhere with 2 or 3 stations...one of them being all crackly sounding.

Yeah, it's about time for deep concern.

Even though he produced last year, he did so while looking like an inferior player.

We overrate him....plain and simple and now he is cracking under the pressure to lead a struggling team.

Faceoffs:

Hall: 100% (not sure how many he took)
Couturier: 53%
B. Schenn: 40%
Giroux: 39%

Lecavalier: 0% (I only directly remember 1 faceoff on the PP)

Him like the rest of team really ramped it up when they were really desperate on the cusp of being eliminated & then when the games didn't matter much anymore last year.

He's been missing that extra gear to take over a game since the Pens series.

We can't continue to count on the guys that are giving us scoring production right now & expect to win games. Him & Voracek really need to start getting it going. Enough is enough.

Coburn is shooting at 22% for the season. L. Schenn is at 16%.

B. Schenn and Talbot lead forwards at 8 and 9ish %, the rest come in at below 5 or something and down to zero. That's absurdly low, and going by the career averages of basically the whole team it stands to reason that at some point it will revert to normal.

If Luke would have scored on the one, him & Coburn would have been tied with Brayden for second place on the team in goals behind McGinn. I don't even think you can make this stuff up.

I know a lot of you want to go into full panic mode about the offence but there is simply no chance that this continues all season. Being frustrated is no excuse to be unreasonable. One of the biggest reasons for the lack of goals and points in the teams top players is the PP. A lot of the teams problems stem off of the fact that the powerplay has been nonexistent. I'd be willing to bet that as soon as we see them put up a few powerplay goals the offense will quickly come together, on 5v5 too.

Braydon Coburn is one goal away from leading our team in goals, just let that one sink in for a moment.

There's no reason for optimism until we're given one.

I'm tempted to use a stopwatch app to start tracking time in the opposition's zone. Anyone want to track defensive zone?

I have a feeling the first number is smaller than the other.
