What does this mean?

Obv infections in surgically repaired body parts aren't good...
I'm no doctor, nor did I sleep at a Holiday Inn Express, but my wife (played collegiate tennis) has had both hips and one shoulder scoped.

I'd guess the doc will scrape & clean out the infected area and treat with heavy duty antibiotics. His recovery time will probably depend on the severity of the infection, how much scraping/cleaning has to be done, & how well his body reacts to the antibiotics.

Just made a proposal involving Josi on the Oilers board. Was told he is "the most overrated D in the league" and "a younger Nick Schultz".

Sometimes I hate being a small market fan.

To be fair, that was only one poster. As an Oiler fan, I would obviously be very interested, but I would be very hesitant to deal Eberle. If anything, I would rather do a deal around Yak and Josi, don't know if the Preds would be interested though. It's been said a lot, but the Oilers don't have a ton of value to offer outside of the "big 4". If you guys were actively looking at deals for Josi, I think you could do better than the Oilers; a lot of teams pay big for young top-4 defensemen.

Proteau's an idiot. I don't think THN ever has anything to say about the Preds unless it's negative or wanting them to move.

Weber's contract, at 7.8M per, is a problem, but he advocates us taking on at least one of Edmonton's young forwards, who are making $6M per? Yeah...ok...

Going to say again. We will be a better team by continuing to build on what we have, and keeping Weber, than we would be by trading him. We're not going to get a Lindros type haul out of dealing him, which is what it would take to make us a more competitive team in the long run.

The Josi proposal intrigues me personally, but I'd be hesitant to do it straight up. Would Preds fans be willing to add to that deal?

Seth Jones is averaging 24:43 TOI P/G right now. When was the last time a rookie got 24:43 or more toi p/g? When was the last time that at least got 24:30?

Per NHL.com, Mcbain in 09-10, but he only played 15 games. Enstrom recorded 24:28 in his rookie year. Kuba hit 24:15 for the expansion Wild and nobody else since NHL.com starting keeping track in '97-'98.

Hey preds fans, congrats on the win tonight. Anyway, I noticed Jones and Weber have been playing together recently. When Trotz plays Jones with Weber, does he have Seth play the off-hand, or does he just keep them both shooting righty?

Jones has been playing on the left side. Which is impressive for a player who just turned 19. Like I posted above you so far he's on pace to average more ice time than any rookie since '98. Don't know if he'll continue that pace once Josi comes back, but it'd be cool to see.

Too bad jones is forced to play his off side.... He might be pretty decent and thus get less protected minutes when he returns to his natural position

I got excited when I checked the standings and saw that we were in the #3 spot in the division... until I noticed that the Blues have FOUR games in hand in us... what a weird scheduling quirk, this early in the season...

A complete aside: I had forgotten what the franchise records were when we surrender X number of goals in a game - since I found it odd that we lose one game 2-0 then come back to win the next game 3-2.

Here it is, since 1998 (including the playoffs):

GA Record
0 81-0-2 (2 ties)
1 165-24-18 (11 ties)
2 155-63-48 (25 ties)
3 110-121-48 (14 ties)
4 28-125-26 (7 ties)
5 5-85-11 (1 ties)
6 0-38-2
7 0-13-1
8 0-6-0

And we have 4 off after Saturday right? Blues are in the midst of having 5 days in a row off. COuld help, could hurt them come Saturday.

All jokes aside, Ellis has been better than Bartley here, in what I think is the battle for the 6 dman spot. If Ellis is in the lineup, Jones will be on the left side.

I would like to see Jones paired with Ellis when Josi returns.

Jones is staying in the top 4 once Josi returns. He's played his way into getting those minutes. I expect Ekholm to play with Ellis and Bartley to be the 7th D.

I know it probably won't happen, but I would love to see Jones continue to play with Weber once Josi is back. They seem to be getting better each game as a pair.

In hopes that all continues well for Jones with his experience and development, he is going to end up being an absolute beast for this team.

I think we attach labels far too easily. Me saying I would put Jones with Ellis means instead of getting 10 min ES and 2 min PP they get 13 and 2 or maybe 15 and 2 if they gel. What that does mean is Josi/Weber will be playing 22 min a night instead of 25. We stay fresher longer. It is a win having 5 guys that can play 20+ mins a night. I am putting Ekholm in that mix because he has done nothing but impress me eating up minutes.

As long as Weber and Jones continue to play well Trotz will keep them together even when Josi returns. It will depend on Josi's play more then anything. He could be out a month or more and will take time to get him back playing lots of minutes. We'll have to see how things play out but it is a good problem to have.

I think Weber/Jones will stay together. Josi and Klein have worked well before, Ellis will stay over Bartley and will play opposite of Ekholm.

It's great news when he participates in contact drills. Until then, he's out indefinitely.

I've never liked the way Josi and Klein played together. Klein and Ekholm are really doing well together.

What a weird problem to have....
