There was a lot of line juggling at different points of different seasons. he probably did play a few games alongside of him here and there, but they weren't exactly regular linemates for the majority of that time. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like Clarkson saw a lot of time with Elias, not so much Kovalchuk.

Since 2010, Clarkson has spent about 135 even strength minutes on the ice with Kovalchuk. That's less than his time with Tim Sestito and Petr Sykora, to put that into perspective. He played more minutes with Tedenby, Butler, and Pesonen than with Kovalchuk (<7 minutes) last season. Safe to say they weren't ever really "linemates," I think. But I guess those seven minutes had to come from somewhere.

What are the chances Brodeur retires this year? Good? Not so good?

Unlikely unless he goes down to severe injury that would require too much time/rehab to return.

I see him backing up Schneider next season after a dual starter role this year.

Clarkson-based drinking game

You guys were 100% correct about the Clarky's skating and balance. Holy smokes.
If he gets touched mid-stride, he's going down and down hard.
Do you guys have a drinking game based around how many times he crashes and/or loses his stick for us Leafs fans to use?

No, because it would result in alcohol poisoning

Also, watch how many times he tries wraparounds, also known as Clarkarounds.

He was included in the drinking game for the playoffs

2 drinks every time he falls down.

His balance is actually comical. I haven't seen anything like that since minor hockey. Lol

what if Lou traded the 4th overall pick from 2011 instead of the 9th from 2012 for Schneider?

What will be the goalie split between Marty and Schneider this season?

Cory is playing lights-out in pre-season.

Will Marty take the bulk of the starts? 70/30, 60/40?

Basically all we can do is guess. Marty will get specific starts like the home opener, likely the outdoor game, and vs. the Habs in Montreal, but I would think overall it'd be close to a 50/50 split. I think if one guy gets hot he'll be the go to so it could end up 60/40 either way. It's pretty hard to say at this point.

Take a shot every time he:

1) Falls down
2) Loses his stick
3) Attempts a wrap around
4) Attempts a toe-drag
5) Attempts his simple forehand to backhand move in a shootout/breakaway (He will do it every time)

Clarkson even used his forehand/backhand in a preseason shootout. He seriously has no other move.

Supposedly he got a headache after being elbowed in the head during a game against Winnipeg almost two weeks ago.

He hasn't skated since. Supposedly it was just a precaution, but I'm starting to think it's BS.

+/- King PDB probably axed him after Clowe started at a -5 in 6 games.

Why is Zidlicky hitting so much?
(about twice has much than his average of +- one per game)

Did you guys noticed a change in his play or it's just coincidence?

Hey Folks. I wonder if anyone can shed some light on what is up with Zajac? I picked him up in a fantasy league thinking he would center the top line and be a decent pick-up. But he's only owned in 7% of Yahoo fantasy leagues and 3 of his 4 points have come on power-play.

I don't get the Devils much (none so far this year) so I don't know if it's a team issue, a Zajac issue, or a bit of both. Any info and suggestions on whether he's worth keeping would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Zajac is a fantastic defensive center, but his production dropped when he no longer had Parise and Kovalchuk on his wings. when you lose that finishing power, your production slows.

however, it should not have slowed by that much. Im hoping he can get back to at least 50 point pace. honestly though, id drop him for this year

Thanks. My center depth on my fantasy team is weak with Couture as the only high-end center. So I dropped Zajac and picked up Granlund in hopes that he gets better. As it is, Granlund is putting up more points, so I hope it's a wash at worse.

Thanks again for the info.
