New York Rangers Fire Sale

This is not reactionary to the other night's loss to the worst team in the league, it's something I've wanted for a while and I feel that this year is the time to do so. This team has several valuable assets but as a whole is not properly constructed at all. My goal is approximately a three year rebuild before they're competing for a home ice playoff spot, ideally.

Needs:

1st round picks.
High end offensive prospects.
Very young, elite potential offensive players.

Off limits:
McDonagh
Callahan
Staal
Richards (due to cap recapture penalty)

Go.

I personally am not high on him. Doesn't mean I'd give him away though.

Probably about time they blow this thing up, surprised you didn't protect King Henrik there.

The Wings would have some interest in Girardi I would think, especially if he is willing to talk extension.

Tatar and a 1st or 2nd is probably realistically what the Rangers would ask if they are in a fire sale. Think the Wings should probably do that, but the bidding could get quite high on Girardi. Only so high I am willing to go if that does indeed happen. Would probably need to throw in Lashoff if you have any interest in the New York State native since he would be waived anyway or a salary dump pending UFA in Quincey.

Depends I don't see people trying to do favors for the Rangers, just see a fit and I am of the belief the Wings don't plan on keeping both Nyquist and Tatar long-term even though most of our fan-base wants that.

Nothing even worth considering on the Rangers. Awful team.

Butterfly goalie's tend to have hip and knee issues earlier and Lundqvist will only be more expensive as he's getting older. The team is also nowhere near competing for a cup so it doesn't make sense to keep him. He could prove to be an absurdly good rental however, and for a team that actually has a well built foundation he could possibly backstop several great cup runs.

With that said much like Stepan I'm not looking for giveaways I'm looking for very good value. As far as Girardi goes he would probably fetch more than that at the deadline. Adding a top pairing stalwart like him before playoff time would be a massive boost to whichever team it would be that lands him.

I wouldn't be opposed to that. I'm absolutely 100% firm on the afore mentioned players however.

Keep Nick Schultz. A 31 year old d-man doesn't do NYR any good for a rebuild. Justin Schultz however would be a done deal.

Would rather simply acquire a pick or prospect for Pouliot.

Callahan's leadership would be needed to guide the youth influx of the rebuild so I'm not looking to trade him.

I was going to make a proposal for a 3rd line RW, but the Rangers literally have no good wingers right now that are healthy. How close is Hagelin to coming back?

Girardi for Nyqvist, Smith or Tatar and a 1st I do. Might take a 2nd instead of a first in the right deal. That is what kind of the rangers would be looking for if they were to move Girardi.

If AV wants a fire sale, the only untouchable is Pyatt.

Callahan shouldn't be off limits. He could get quite a return from a contender.
