Callahan should be in no way off-limits, especially with the contract that he's looking for.

Really really want Stepan but I can't see what the Sharks would give up.

I don't think it works. There's players on the Sharks the Rangers wouldn't take for Stepan and then there's players the Sharks wouldn't give up. Stepan kinda of falls in the middle.

David Booth and a 2nd for Brad Richards. One overpaid player for another?

For the Habs, I'd be interested in Brassard and Boyle...

Guy only led the team in scoring last year while being very good defensively. What is there to be high on?

Girardi is a UFA rental guys/gals, he isn't commanding that, even if the bidding war goes crazy.

You just basically had the Wings offer a Kovy/Hossa trade deadline package, think about that for a second and ask yourself if that was reasonable at all?

I didn't offer you something outright insulting, heck we have had open discussions with Sabres fans on Vanek that didn't include more than one of those guys all summer. You could go with a mid-level guy on top of Tatar and cap dump but there is just no way on earth all three players are coming into the same offer with a first on top of it, seriously the Wings probably wouldn't do that for a single Rangers player even the ones protected in the OP.

We know this in part because they wouldn't touch it on Nash. I guess I shouldn't be surprised but you were offered exactly what the op stated, nobody is going to bend over and take it the Rangers are in big trouble. Of course playing an actual home game would probably help. But these guys just don't have the value especially with some of their contract situations that I am seeing in this thread.

Should not trade Stepan while we are on it, they would be crazy to do that.

If it's a rebuild, Girardi for Leblanc.

The off-limit players are really the only players that other teams want...

The Wings would have some interest in Girardi I would think, especially if he is willing to talk extension.

Tatar and a 1st or 2nd is probably realistically what the Rangers would ask if they are in a fire sale. Think the Wings should probably do that, but the bidding could get quite high on Girardi. Only so high I am willing to go if that does indeed happen. Would probably need to throw in Lashoff if you have any interest in the New York State native since he would be waived anyway or a salary dump pending UFA in Quincey.

Depends I don't see people trying to do favors for the Rangers, just see a fit and I am of the belief the Wings don't plan on keeping both Nyquist and Tatar long-term even though most of our fan-base wants that.
I'd be just fine with Tatar and a 1st for Girardi. If the Rangers decided that this year was a wash, that's exactly the kind of deal they should look for. Helps now, and helps in the future.

Played a lot with Nash and has been horrific without him thus far. Albeit his own holdout isn't helping him much with missing so much pre season.

Started out slow last year, and the year before, and then put it together. He's a slow starter. Implying his success was a result of Nash is asinine.

Trading him would be absolutely idiotic. Period.
