Matt Halischuk

Ever since Matt Halischuk was traded to the Kitchener Rangers from the Toronto St. Michael's Majors for Michael Pelech, he has picked up his game a lot. He has 22 goals as of December 9, 2006. I believe that he may have a 50-goal season. What do you think?

To this point in the season, he's one of the top two or three contenders for team MVP in Kitchener. 50 goals might be a stretch (unless he was playing vs the Knights every game*), but anything is possible. When he's not scoring goals, he's setting up his linemates and has been adding on the assists.

I don't know why Toronto didn't play him or what the issue was, but I can't imagine you'd find anyone in Kitchener not happy with the trade. Pelech is also doing well in Toronto as well, so it was a good deal all around.

* it's so good to see a Knights killer on Kitchener. It's been a long time coming!

I am not sure he will come close to 50, but he has been scoring well against London. Perhaps recent acquisition Kevin Montgomery will be a Halischuk killer, which is also long overdue.

I think Kitchener has waited a lot longer for a Knightslayer than part of one season. But for some reason, Halischuk has Mason's number.

I agree that 50 seems a stretch, unless he goes on a roll in a hurry. He has 22 or 23 now I believe.
