It's good, now that they've fired a coach & won twice in 9 games, that the #Flyers can afford to have their top scorer develop in the minors

Makes it sound like the Flyers just demoted Gretzky. C'mon man.
What an idiot.

He doesn't know hockey, not even a little bit. I argue with him on twitter all of the time. No lie, my 8 year old niece knows more hockey than he does.

In all fairness, McGinn has outplayed several guys who have an immutable roster spots.

Not that impressed with McGinn, he scored 2 lucky goals, then again he was in the right place at the right time, more then I can say about Giroux

In addition, he was able to actually bury it, unlike many others. Giroux was in the right place at the right time a couple of times already, but couldn't score, same thing with Schenn yesterday on that 2-on-1. Or a couple of other guys with good chances from similar positions that went unused. Sometimes goals like these seem like sureshots, but you still have to score and put yourself in that position.

Having said that, he wasn't noticeable in the past two games. I think with guys like him, you often get the "call-up effect" that wears off quite soon.

I don't really get it; Raffl seems like a good skater, but between the turnovers, poor clears in his own end, and failure to finish the chances he's had I'm thinking the game is moving a bit fast for him at this level. McGinn probably isn't as talented, but he knows his strengths and uses them, he's a big guy and he goes to the net, and that's led to some goals. Raffl to me is Nodl 2.0, except at least Nodl was a young player. Raffl is 25, hardly a prospect that we can look forward to developing; he is what he is.
Also, both are Austrian.

It's not that McGinn is some kind of world beater, it's that he was apparently good enough to be a spark on the top line, in two different seasons, for two different coaches, doing so successfully, and still gets demoted. They want him to not be down on himself, but they're giving him every reason to be. It's also that the Flyers are sending down the player who is no worse than the 10th best forward in the organization.

The guy goes about it completely the wrong way but he's also right again.

McGinn deserved to be up over Raffl and this isn't the first time McGinn has come through for us in a call-up. He's also better then the likes of Newbury, Rosehill, etc.

I think Raffl has more potential. He definitely has more speed and defensive awareness.

I don't think there's room for McGinn, Simmonds and Hartnell in the top 9.

There's room for McGinn on the 4th line. Nothing wrong with a guy like him on the 4th line.

If only Tye Gretzky was playing it would be about 6-0 right now.

Putting McGinn on the 4th line seems like the logical thing to do.

Rinaldo - Hall - Talbot

Rinaldo - Talbot - McGinn

Any of those lines are better than a line that has Rosehill on it. Rosehill's not worth the risk; he seems prone to do dumb things and the Flyers don't need another guy like that.

Honestly why not keep McGinn for the 4th line. He's much better than Rosehill.

So is Hall, the better option, but that didn't stop them from playing Rosehill last night. Not too big of a deal though as I really can't imagine him playing much more then 15 games the rest of the season. I guess they want McGinn playing lots of minutes and if he can't get that here then he's better off in ADK. Just a guess.

With the lack of scoring, the Flyers could definitely use guys with A BIT of skill on the 4th line. Maybe chip in some goals every now and then.
