I always been a fan of Torrey Mitchell speed when he was in San Jose and i tought he will fit extremely well in our bottom 6 in MTL

Montréal

Travis Moen
Raphael Diaz

VS

Coincidence that both of them are from Quebec lol.

I like both of those pieces. Diaz is more offensive than Scandella. But I like Scandellas game.

I'm not sure how Wild fans would feel. I would do the deal.

I feel that the deal looks like this.

Moen<Mitchell
Diaz>Scandella

I like the deal but Mitchell is an other small forward !! We do not need those in Mtl . Even do I believe Mitch is better then moen I don't think it a good deal for Mtl ! Who will play on the second pp if Diaz leave ?? And Diaz as a nice first pass , he as that offensive skill , with Murray coming back soon and Emelin in December Mtl d squad of defensive damn will be good !!
Markova -subban , gorges-Emelin , Murray-Diaz /bouillon/Beaulieu/tinordi /drewisky

We don't have enough big forward to trade one of them for a speedy 4 line center

This trade is only offered because both the Minnesota players are from Quebec.

I pass either way.

Pretty sure the Wild have no interest in 3 years of Moen, especially at the cost of Mitchell.

This trade just makes the Wild older, which they don't need.

Minnesota would say yes if the deal was altered.

I would welcome Diaz for Scandella and to move Mitchell as a component wouldn't be breaking the bank. Reasons being, Fontaine has been playing very well and there are others to fill Mitchell's shoes if need be that are healthy scratches or in Iowa (keep wanting to say Houston). Z. Phillips looks to be on track with his development and could be NHL ready next year...

I would purpose something like

Scandella and Mitchell for Diaz and 6th rd. pick (probably couldn't get the pick)

Thats terrible. Diaz isn't a big enough upgrade over Scandella to warrant Mitchell for a 6th. Not to mention Diaz is a UFA after this season While Scandella and Mitchell are under contract or team control for atleast another season.

If you want the deal altered how about we just forget about Mitchell altogether.Really don't want/need another small foward in Mitchell especially just because he's from Que.
Diaz for Scandella and a 6th if he resigns. If he doesn't you get back your 6th.

I am not sold on this deal. I value Scandella a bit more and I really don't want to get rid of Mitchell's speed.

I don't think Scandella being under contact worries or provides any upgrade to Wild management. Fletcher and co. have given Scandella every opportunity to be a top 6 or at least worst case NHL caliber defenseman, and he routinely gets benched or sent back down to Houston / Iowa.

So to obtain Diaz, and based upon the OP's proposal, .... you get what you get.

Mictchell hasn't done enough to warrant him not being a trade piece and Scandella for Diaz is a pretty nice option for the Wild if he can be brought in for the correct price. I think "us" Wild fans feel Scandella's value is higher than it is based upon potential and age but the reality is, it may be awhile if not ever if he becomes an everyday defenseman in this league (IMO)

The hard part about the deal is contracts. Scandella still has a year left at near $1 and Diaz is an upcoming UFA who will be looking for a 3-5 year deal and at a raise. The Wild will be careful with this cash this summer as they will look to extend Brodin, Nino and Fontaine ... AND offer a competitive deal for Vanek

Fair deal I guess, but that's not really a reason to make it happen

No way, sorry. I see Diaz to have a low trade value and I think Mitchell/Scandella are better for our team.

You guys have been wanting to trade Diaz to us for a year
