If Bergy can trade DD for Kopecky, will he still be compared to Houle?

And then, Bjugstad is not even in the lineup. At least, know who the **** are the players you're trading for before proposing a trade.

Should target Matthias (6'04 center) and Kopecky (6'03 rw)

Next year we'd have:

Galchenyuk - Eller - Gallagher
Pacioretty - Plekanec - Bournival
Bourque - Briere - Kopecky
Moen - Matthias - Prust
Parros

4 players would be under 6 feet :').

Diaz: Second worst D for +/- after Bouillon. Among the regular players, only DD has less hits than him. If his only upside is offence, I don't think that 4 passes in 11 games is enough. Good news is that he's UFA at end of the year but unlike Bouillon and Gionta, he might have some trade value.

DD: Just the worst in every category.

Unless another team wants them which is unlikely, Bouillon and Gionta will finish the year with the Habs and won't get re-signed.

Pick your treat...
Agree with this 100%.

Plekanec is playing with Bournival and Gionta... Bourque used to play with him, but not atm.

This I agree. In the end I rather see no trade then a bad trade. Having said that, this team will not improve a whole lot this year with out a good trade.

If Bourque played 100% hard in all games, he wouldn't be a 3-4 million/year player but a 5-6/year. I would like to have him in the PO...if we get there.
DD-Well it's no secret, most fan don't like his play and he has lost some fize. He's not as bad has we all think but he does creat unbalance to the lineup.
Diaz is a good card to have. If anything, we need a better Gorges.

I wouldn't even be mad. Gomez is on a 1 year- 900 000 contract and at this point he pretty much knows he won't be anywhere near our top 6

For DD? It'd be a dream

DD is in a slump since the departure of Erik Cole. He has no value on the trade market. To get rid of him is not possible presently. Bergevin is painted on the wall with him.

DD can go suck an EGG somewhere. Even if he scores 60 in Florida I never want to see him play for the Habs again!
So? At least Verteeg doesn't fall on his ass a la Desharnais the moment another guy pushes him and DD's contract isn't any better.

I just looked up Kopecky's stats online and LMAO. He's got ZERO point.

No wonder Tallon wants to trade his ass. DD is even more useless in every sense of the word so I'd still do DD for Kopecky right away.

XXX - Eller - Gallagher

Parros (or any other big guy that we get our hands on) / White

I could also see Leblanc being Galchenyuks RW on the third line. That'd put Kopecky next to Eller and he could create space for him with his big, muscular, ripped body. (no-homo)

We'd be saving money instead of going after a UFA and we'll be more confortable with Ellers, Subbans and Markovs next contracts.

PS: omg~ Galchenyuks is playing Center!

If Tallon is trading for DD why does this need to be done in person? I think if they are having these kind of negotiations it's for a much bigger trade, even if it's not a blockbuster, it sounds more like a core piece or two being moved.

Matthias would be good too, I would do DD for matthias straight up. Matthias is a skilled center that has been under producing in the florida panthers system because of their poor teams and depth. He would get a change of scenery here. A bit like Benoit Pouliot but Matthias doesnt have as many flaws in his game

The one that I would really like isn't even Kulikov since we have Dietz, Beaulieu, Thrower, Nygren coming up. The one I really want is Bjugstad. A big right handed center that has lots of skills. I would give DD + Tinordi for him. I would build my team around Bjugstad, Plekanec, Eller , Galchenyuk.

Although I don't think Desharnais hasn't been has bad as some people suggest (the PGT are unreadable for that reason only), I would deal him for Kopecky. Kopecky's contract situation is better for us, he's obviously bigger, he's worse offensively but his defensive game and his ability to win battles makes him a better fit for us on the 3rd line than DD.

But for those suggesting Matthias could be traded, no way he does. He's finally showing what he can do and he was one of their few bright spots last year. I'd love to have him on our team (him and Bournival would be a deadly duo on our 3rd line) but it will take more than that to get him.

My lines would be:

Pacioretty - Plekanec - Gionta
Galchenyuk - Eller - Gallagher
Kopecky - Briere - Bourque
Moen - Bournival - Prust

What exactly would Matthias cost the Habs anyways? Plus, maybe last season he did good, but he's having a difficult start this year.

Dont want Versteeg although he is better than both Briere and Gionta.

I was looking at his stats for the last 3 years where he mostly played with Plekanec. Even with Plekanec, he was under 0.5 PPG. This way of diluting the offence needs to stop. As soon as a player struggles, we put him on the same line as someone who's playing well to help him produce gain. One glass of water and one glass of good scotch don't make two glasses of good scotch...

Only way I'd want Versteeg is if Briere is going the other way too. If you're going to make a trade that doesn't upgrade your team, at least clear up some cap space so you can pay the guys who actually contribute to the team next summer.

Why would Dale Tallon be interested in DD?

I think he is looking at Diaz. And i bet he is willing to unload Upshall, Kopecky and Bergenheim. Although none of those are interesting maybe Kopecky at the very least.

They already have a much better version in Kulikov
