Good question. He is 31 yrs old making $6mil this year. Just don't think his play justifies that salary at all. Maybe a team like Edmonton would take him because of his veteran presence.

Well, the Sedins definitely don't play Flyers Hockey.

Yet, trading the whole core for 33 year old superstars DOES seem very Flyers Hockeyish.

The trade would be really ugly. It would undo our rebuild so we could get 33 year old players. It would be a really bad idea.

i really am not a fan of Buff. But i could live with it if Winnipeg took Coburn off our hands.

I would never trade schenn or couts for buff. Never. Coburn + Laughton+2nd rounder I might do, but I'm not getting rid of those kids for him. He isn't the elite all around guy you would trade one of them for.

But they could hang out with Vinnie, Streit and Kimmo! Give them a 4 or 5 year deal and they'll all retire at the same time.

I might do that trade, too.

Buff plays 26 minutes a night and produces offensively. The Flyers could use a player like that.

Gotta make sure it's a 35+ though.

wasnt sure where to post, but i was wondering if anyone could tell me whats going on with Timmonen? how has he been held pointless through 10 games? I know the flyers arent having a great season, but still is there some reason behind this? less ice time? nursing an injury?

His play has dropped slightly with age. The Flyers offensive woes have also contributed to his 0 points as has the horrid Powerplay. He's been dropped to the 2nd unit which will hopefully wake him up and force him to start playing better. The whole team has had little confidence offensively so far this year but many of us believe it's only a matter of time before things get going. Kimmo is too dedicated and too smart to not step up and return to a higher level of play.

He's dinged several posts and he's made some good plays, but the guys on the receiving end of said plays were often too busy SUCKING HORRIBLY to do anything with it. Combine it with him losing a step, and you get low point totals. As mentioned he's looked bizarrely out of place on the PP.

I would look to move Kimmo to a contender that he would accept a trade to. I think he can get new life on team that plays a tight d game (StL, LA, OTT) for pick(s).

Kimmo for Leopold?

Can you get Eberle or Hemsky for a package of Hartnell + asset(s) from Kimmo trade?

This team needs a finisher.

Hemsky, yeah, probably. Eberle, probably only in our dreams, unfortunately.

Jordan Leopold? If so why the hell would we want him if we were trading Timonen?

Other than G ( who will bounce back) there isn't a player I wouldn't trade for a offensive great skating d man.

Depending on the price I could be okay with trading for byfuglien. I feel like he would either elevate his game or crash and burn here in Philly with little inbetween. For the right price, it'd be hard not to salivate over a PP1 of Giroux Vinny Voracek Buff Streit

It's been said before, but Raffl is not a top line player. He's played admirably and could be a good third liner, but he doesn't seem to posses the ability to finish that you need to be a first liner. Trading for a skilled top 6 forward could do wonders, in my opinion.
