To Dallas

Nail Yakupov

To Edmonton

Valeri Nichushkin

I think this is a deal that helps both clubs. Valeri Nichushkin is 6'4 196 lbs. is 11th overall rating on hockeysfuture prospect rating. he is also a RW that can play right next to RNH/Hall that would be a very scary line. It also give Edmonton some size in there top 6.

as for dallas they get a pure goal scorer that will be scary with Seguin/Benn.

I know other teams need to add but overall this is a great starting point.

Why would the Oilers do this? If they trade Yakupov it won't be for another young forward.

This makes no sense for Edmonton.

They trade away a scoring winger for a scoring winger. Ignoring their need for defense and Goaltending.

Terrible.

Exactly. We need defensemen, a goalie, and maybe a power forward (which Nichushkin could qualify as), but the kicker is, that the Oilers are wanting out of the rebuild, so I'm guessing that this would mean that they want guys in the 23 -30 range, not the 18 - 22 range.

Too soon to call him a bust, anyone who says that needs to give their head a shake.

True but you know some of the mentality around here...if a player who was picked where he was is not scoring on a nightly basis people are quick to call him them a bust. He is doing every thing right just snake-bitten in the scoring dept at the moment.

First off, I don't think the OP is an Oiler fan. Second, we are fine keeping Yakupov if the right deal doesn't come along. In case you didn't read the thread, every Oiler fan in here has said no.

I would rather keep Nichushkin, especially when you think that we need a pure goal scorer next to two snipers.

Few of the trade Yakupov threads are from Oilers fans

Bull****. He has been in most thread started by Oiler fans lately looking to fill a hole a d or as part of package. Please don't make stuff up.

Why would we want Nichuskin? We had the chance to draft him and we passed on him. Now you are asking for Yakupov. That is just a sad joke.

If the Oilers wanted Nichushkin they would have just picked him in June when they had the chance.

I'm pretty sure both teams would just keep their top prospects in this case. No need to swap
