Yakimov is apparently only getting ~10 minutes of ice time so this could be pretty interesting if he keeps this up.

Nurse wasn't kidding when he said he wanted to go back to Juniors and dominate. Can't wait to watch him play at the World Juniors.

Nurse had a primary assist, +1, 2PIM (Holding) for the Greyhounds tonight.

WHL EDIT: Greg Chase is alive! 2 ES goals so far with time left in the 1st.

He deserves his own post. Greg Chase records a hattrick in the first period! ESG, ESG, PPG.

Could Greg Chase be a world beater?

He likely could, but with Marincin and Klefbom in the system I doubt it. Also he has to be better than Musil, Gernat, and Davidson and all those guys are playing pro right now.

Big Ben Betker scored his first of the night in a 4-3 loss to Kamloops.
Khaira is still out.

And of course Greg Chase, who has all of Calgarys goals in a 3-3 tie in the third.

Pretty good weekend for some of our NCAA guys.

Kellen Jones - 2gp 1g 3a
Connor Jones - 2gp 3a
Joey Laleggia - 2gp 1g 1a
John McCarron - 2gp 4a

Evan Campbell(2013 5th rounder) is still pointless in 4 games and Dillon Simpson was pointless in an exhibition game vs. the USNTDP.

Wow Chase is doing pretty good considering where he was picked. If he, Roy, Khraira and Moroz pan out that looks like a decent 3rd line with skill and grit

Bottom 6 lines:

Moroz-Chase-Roy/Pitlick
Yakimov/Zharkov- Khraira- Roy/Pitlick

Not trying to be a jerk or put down your potential future line combos but how often has that worked out and the players actually developed and made the proposed lines more than a pipe dream? Obviously with the kid line we have seen it but how about in the bottom 6? _________ brodziak stortini?

Moroz-Chase-McCarron

Now theirs a potential 3rd/4th line that can lean on some teams.

This is very true. I'm just thinking about the players that grow in "jumps" and I'm wondering if Nurse might be ahead of those guys.

Chase was highly touted when he was drafted to Whl , not surprising he is doing well, glad he was underwhelming his first couple years in Whl we stole him in 7th round. He was 1 st round bantam draft pick , now living up to his billing.

well, that's a british term meaning two goals, thought it would be universally understandable. btw here are those two goals: one and two. today's one isn't available yet.

Thats what I assumed, but wanted to make sure it didn't mean something random like... Lou Gerhrig's disease.

Thank you sir.

I learned a new term today.

Also, that's the same link twice.

Yakimov is 6'6 and 205 as 19 year old. Good size but a little bit light for such a frame. Hope he'll play in WJC to see what he's capable on that level. But he isn't Tarasenko or Kuznetsov.

Good, because another one of those kinds of players is the last thing the Oilers need. Yakimov is doing the right stuff, using his size and taking the puck to the net.
