Our #6

Janne is playing good hockey since he's back in the lineup .. he's not the offensive defenseman he was but he's showing some good things.

Give Janne credit where it's due folks!

He played a solid game. He had a bad giveaway, but immediately worked his *** off to get it back. Great effort.

Funny its one of the reasons I logged on. A couple of times I was watching and went nice play there by Markov, only to discover is was Janne. A very good game. I would give the cube a rest and play Janne. For me you have Markov/Komo Souray/Rivet Janne/Dandenault. Streit is no. 7 and the cube is 8

I think Niinamaa has been coming on strong at a time the Habs really need him. By the end of the season it think it will become clear that the Habs benefited from the trade.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Janne still scares me every time he uses his stick for whatever reason...

Bring Streit as soon as possible on D -- When we're gonna be able to put a lineup without Murray or Downey -- to play the #6.

I thought Niinimaa had a tough game after a couple of good outings last week. He had a few adventures out there, for sure.

I truly hope he keeps it up. He's still ridiculously overpaid for a guy who lost most of his offensive instincts and you have to pray plays a decent defensive game, but at least he's been solid these past three games.

Faint praise? Damn right. Thankfully his salary is off the books come June.

The effort is always there with niinimaa

Unfortunately, he doesn't always make the smart decision.

And he's gotta stop putting himself in positions where he can get called for penalties. When he's battling along the boards, he tends to hold the other guy. It was allowed in the old NHL, but he needs to learn to use his stick more effectively along the boards to stick around in the NHL.

Full props to Janne the last 2 games. Showed grit and heart coming back after getting hit in the face with the puck last game and played really solid against the Bruins. He made Chara look like Aki Berg

He looked horrible in the second, which is the only time I really had enough time to watch the game.

Haven't been noticing him, and when I have it's been good plays. Like diving infront of a badly bounced puck off the glass right to the slot. And after games you see he's blocking a few more shots as well. He was TERRIBLE to start the season. Atleast there's been an improvement in his simplifed game.

In his last 3 games he has looked solid (no giveaways like in beginning of season).
He's keeping it simple while playing with more intensity and confidence (IMO).
And, gotta give him lots of (kudos) credit for coming back the way he did after taking the puck to the face. Real warrior. I'm sure his teammates appreciated Niinimaa's willingness to come back to the game.

Right now he's playing like a solid #6 Dman...he's great for our depth.
Streit as our 4th liner (or #7-8 Dman).
Niinimaa as our #6-7 Dman.

Keep it up Ninii!

Go Ninii Go!!

That puck to the head must have knocked some hockey sense into him
