Winnipeg Jets looking for offensive spark

Winnipeg Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff was on the talk on noon and said that his team is looking for a offensive spark(the Power Play has not been good at all). Make any proposals that you think will help this team NOW and GOING FORWARD. Everyone is available.

Let me be the first Hab fan to offer Desharnais. He played his best game of the season 2 weeks ago in Winnipeg! He's comfortable there!

Play him with like Wheeler and Ladd or Kane or something, there are options in WPG that I think might help him try to recreate the Pacioretty-Cole sweet spot he was in a couple years ago. He really did look creative and spark them, he wasn't just a passenger. I don't know where it went. The contract makes it hard to just give it a try. Because it carries consequences if it doesn't work. But on the flip side, it also makes him dirt cheap to acquire.

Outside of the newly locked up young core, I really don't see an asset that would get a great return. Personally, I don't see the Jets getting a playmaker for a Buff who's still owed $5.2 (cap) a year for the next 3 seasons.

Really confused how "offensive spark" became "5'7 center with 1 point in 12 games and a terrible contract"

Versteeg for Setoguchi

Steeger reunites with Buf/Ladd ,, Seto goes to Fla and saves them some $$$

Both players are struggling so a change of scenery to jumpstart move

Winnipeg has (or is going to have in a year or two when Trouba gains some experience) 4 top 2 D-men in Enstrom, Buff, Bogosian and Trouba.

I would suggest simply due to their age, the Jets would prefer to keep Bogo and Trouba, so what would Enstrom or Buff fetch?

Buff plus a 2nd for Eberle?

Enstrom and a 2nd for Marchand?

Am I even close?

Yeah, Desharnais is available. I guarantee he'll be the offensive spark needed when he plays with Ladd and Wheeler.

This defense only have 2 RHD and you pair them.... WTF???

LD RD
Markov-Subban
Emelin-Bogosian
Georges-Diaz

Trade value is not there, Bogo is worth WAY more then that... Think more like Gallagher + Georges/Bourque + 2014 2nd/Christian Thomas...

I wouldn't actually mind picking up Desharnais, a couple of days ago I suggested a Plekanec + Desharnais deal for Scheifele + Jokinen + 1st/2nd I believe, and Habs fans seemed pretty happy about that.

This is something I would probably do, as I'm a big fan of Steeger and have watched him in FLA a bit.

edit: And every other trade in this thread is terrible, btw. We aren't trading Bogosian for your scraps.

I was thinking something along those lines.

Though we'd probably then have to move a defenceman for a forward. Also, it's could be questionabe to make a trade when you're winning. Might rock the boat.

Wheeler = Yakupov (right now)

Yakupov is good, but i would think Winnipeg would prefer to keep Buff and Wheeler. Unless they plan on tanking the season, then it makes sense for them.
