Further proof it wasn't Bryz who sucked, it's everything in front of him and still is.

You have to also remember that Emery was a pile of hot **** 2 years ago. Everyone forgets that because of last year.

Yet Mason behind that same D in 8 games has a .930 sv pct and 2.15 GAA

And Bryz was not well liked in lockeroom of Pho and likely Phi ,, So poor play on ice and poor attitude off it are recipe for ending up without a job

10 points in 12 games this year will make you do that, why couldn't he have done that here and cemented that 2nd line centre we thought he'd be. Our two Cup wins he was a fantastic 3rd line centre and then an ok 4th line centre but never what he was supposed to be.

The closest he ever came to that was 08-09 season when he played 2C alongside Havlat and Ladd. Injuries and inconsistent play always kept him out or reshuffled throughout the line up. If he was a 60+ point 2C maybe he's still here but no way at his salary could they justify it considering how far down the line up he was. Always a fan favourite though and a clutch player come playoff time.

To me, it screams CONTRACT YEAR!

He seems to only play well when looking for a contract, or going for the cup in the playoffs.

He was easily our worst regular forward last year.

I'm glad the change is working for Bolland, but I really don't regret that he was traded at all.

Ya, but I still miss him. I wouldn't mind if he signed back here though, depending on the price obviously.

Varlamov's been awesome for the Avalanche. A big reason they have the record they do. It'll be interesting to see how much of an increased workload Giguere can handle at this point in his career, and whom else they have to fill in.

Should help the Hawks a bit. lol

Talking about the obvious hockey impact the Varlamov situation will have on the division is perfectly fine, but steer away from cracking jokes about it. Won't hesitate to delete additional posts or more.

Well that's just a terrible situation. I have Giguere in fantasy at least? I mean I don't really care at this point about something as trivial as that to be honest.

I just read a blurb and if what I read is true it certainly seems much less serious than originally implied.

Sorry that my earlier Roy reference apparently violated board rules.

To the situation at hand, besides the Avs impact, was Varlamov a serious contender to make the Russian Olympic team prior to this? I see he was on the list of folks invited to the Team Russia camp this past summer.

Eta:

Oh and here we go. Russian pol claims this arrest was about Sochi..

Apparently he threw his GF against the wall, and then she fell, and then he proceeded to stomp on her, as per her attorney.

And she also said this wasn't the first time he has assaulted her
