How did Bachman look? I never got to watch the game, and the stats say pretty bad. But was he left out to dry? Any softies? Or should I be expecting a 6 million dollar extension?

Even with putting up the points, Eberle has been playing poorly this year.

It's obvious though.

What do the Oilers lack?

Sure the defense could be better. Goaltending wasn't the problem tonight but they could use an upgrade.

Everyone in the league knows that the Oilers have very talented young stars.

Besides a few more years to mature for the forwards, an upgrade on goaltending and a #1D, I don't see what else the Oilers need.

Nurse/Klefbom could be top pairing D, you can easily trade one of the forwards for a top pairing D and as the rest of them get older, they will get better.

I really think Christian Ehrhoff is a player the Oilers should target. Top pairing defenseman, wouldn't cost any of the young players you guys have and comes with a very cheap salary.

Ehrhoff is a smarter Justin Schultz (right now).

No, he's not.

So I suspect the quit will be on. Fingers crossed for a trade for the sake of a trade, ugh.

Eakins is talking now. I hope someone asks him about the line matching.

I wish that would happen, so that I could be the Vince McMahon guy who busts a steel chair over Lowe's head to make him lose.

I wouldn't mind if MacT made a trade just to shake things up. This is getting pathetic.

He doesn't feel like the Kessel line out-played Nuge's line. Only out-finished. Jesus christ.

Eakins is a disaster. He is so damn arrogant in his press conferences. Did he even watch this game?

Missing Krueger

Well we've learned that stubborn coaching + stubborn players = complete disaster.

Forget first line, second line, third line crap, we just need a checking line of vets that still has a chance to score to go out against the other team's best line. Maybe a line like Hemsky, Gordon, Perron (when not "sick").

I used to think that guys like Eberle, Nuge and Yakupov didn't want to play defense but maybe on top of that they simply can't stop other teams top lines right now. It looks like they don't even know how, they don't even know where to go.

Throwing these guys into the deep end repeatedly is not going to make them better players. They're just going to get bitter, give up and abandon the system. No one likes being embarrassed by their friends and Eberle, Yak, Hall, Nuge and whoever is getting embarrassed right now. Put those guys on two lines against the B and C grade competition.

Eakins wants to ride those guys hard and play them in all situations but they're not ready yet. Put them in a spot to succeed not fail or he'll lose the room in record time.

Renney and Krueger must be howling right now if they even bother to care.

I find it hard not to like the Leafs. I like the way they play the game and I respect the way they were built.

Maybe Lowe should have given Burke an interview instead of automatically hiring his best friend.

Eakins sounding defensive, he's feeling the pressure.

Too bad he's not changing anything because of misleading shot numbers.

All the goals were basically no chance. They were all point blank. He made quite a few outstanding saves as well. I wouldn't call it a great game, but he certainly did not look bad.
