so during one of the intermissions, the flyers held a Halloween costume contest in which homer's wife was one of the judges. it's important to mention she was booed...rather obviously. can't help but think old man snider probably noticed...

Personal opinion: Other than the goal Read didn't do much of anything, Meszaros was one of the better defenders throughout the game and rosehill played solid during the minutes he played.

i'm guessing it was probably due to where you were sitting. we were midway up 214 and everyone around us commented on it. perhaps not as loud as I initially thought, but there was definite booing

Tonight's game is also what makes Coburn so frustrating.

The skating - seriously one of the best skaters on this team, and hes 6'6. Tonight shows what confidence does for Coburn. Sadly, the confidence doesn't appear enough.

The passing - He wasn't trying to pin the breakout on Grossmann. He actually took it upon himself to make the first pass, and did so effectively. Most notably, that rocket that sprung Hartnell on the partial breakaway

Its nights like this which always keep me flip-flopping on my opinion of Coburn. He has had absolutely dreadful nights, but follows them up with performances like tonight. He just sucks you back in.

I'm sure there are always some *******s out there. I remember looking at the screen from my seats (110) and the only sound I heard was one guy clapping because at the exact moment I thought in my head "God I wish Holmgren was gone."

That's pretty damn stupid, it's just a damn game. It honestly just proves how dumb the average Philadelphia sports fan is.

It's not about how dumb the average Philly sports fan is, it's how dumb the average human being is. Being a Philly sports fan has nothing to do with it.

Had a lot of positive things to say, then my browser messed up.

If I were GM:
First thing would be to lock Mason up for 2-3 years.

Kimmo wont be moved until the deadline. Until then, shelter his minutes and keep him healthy so he has value. Move Coburn. If we can get a 7th for Mesz, great. Either way, I wouldn't have any of those players back next year, unless Kimmo wants an office job.

I'd keep Harts as a 2/3 LW. We can get more assets for Simmonds.

If he can't perform, move Voracek if we can make out like bandits on a trade

Next Season:
Read - G - Vinny
Rafl- Schenn - Cousins/Akeson
Harts - Laughton - McGinn
Rinaldo-Couts-Talbot
Hall

Alt-Gus
Schenn- Morin
Haag - Streit
Grossman

Mason
Stolarz

I wouldn't expect much, other than for the rookies to gain experience. I'd still expect to compete though. And it isn't really a tear down/rebuild other than moving Voracek and Simmonds.

I'd just like to throw out the fact there are NO flyers in the TOP 100 players for points in the NHL. Pathetic how piss poor this offense is.

Nope, I stick to my original comment. There's far too many people in this city that take things way too serious when it comes to sports.

so you don't want to make the playoffs for 5 more years? oh yeah, and you want the team to in front of a half empty building.

Great first, decent second, crap third. Where have we seen this before?

Mez and Rosehill should not be playing, Rosehill especially. He has no redeeming qualities.

Wayne Simmonds works really hard out there and I do like him, but his hockey sense is seriously lacking. Call it a knee jerk reaction if you want (though I've felt this way for a while), but I would definitely be shopping him. As it stands, I don't see how McGinn couldn't adequately fill Simmonds' void.

True that. I went to the game tonight and it honestly reminded me why I enjoy watching the game on TV so much more. I just want to watch the game. I'm kind of a stick in the mud, though.

Not only that but I highly some of those kids will be ready. Stolarz definitely won't, he needs to play & will be better off in the AHL for that.

Sure, but currently we're talking about Flyers fans booing our GM's wife because they don't like the way he runs a hockey team.

When something else like this happens in another city let me know & I'll be sure to call their fans idiots too.

Yeah, but the people booing Holmgren's wife are just dirtbag human beings. I'm sure there's plenty of those in every arena. People are a-holes.

You honestly don't think things like this happen in other cities? You realize that the only reason you even know about it is because one person on here said something about it (which was then disputed by someone else who was there)? You don't know about other teams fans doing **** like this for the same reason that other teams fans don't know that Flyers fans allegedly boo'd Homers wife (and even then he said it was only a few people and the other person said he didn't hear it at all).
