I choose to put Crosby in there and leaving Dionne out, but it was a heart breaking decision (considering that I grew up going to Marcel-Dionne arena)...I do believe that in 10 years, Crosby will be consider in the Lemieux-Gretzky-Orr group.
Here are my lines:
Lemieux-Gretzky-Jagr (who cares if Lemieux is a center, we all saw what happen when they played together and Jagr is just the perfect complement)
Howe-Crosby-M.Richard (Mr. Hockey-The Next One and The Rocket, ouf!)
I used my judgment when it came into inserting old players with new guys. I mean. Sid and Alex aren't hall of famers (yet?) but their play is with the best ever Imo right now. Also, it's practically impossible to not make players play out of position.
Here's my stab at it, keep in mind I tried to use position and my third line is a "checking" line.
Jagr-Lemieux-Hull (I almost have a hard on thinking about it )
Crosby-Gretzky-Richard ( can you imagine the passion the Rocket & the kid )
Forsberg-Howe-Messier ( IMO the 3 best 2 way player )
Dionne-Beliveau-Bossy ( ok, ok, this just for me, an all frog line)
Reminds me of The Simpsons and Mr. Burns's obsession in having a righthanded hitter vs a lefty pitcher!
What 8 minutes left in the very close 16 to 1 game! I got bench my Hall of famers and put the checking line on the ice, we never know!
Exactly what I was gonna post. To win a hockey game, you have to score more goals than your opponent. So would a checking line stops more goals against or a super offensive line score more goals for your team?
