I don't believe what they are saying but suppose they do leave subban out. I won't say much until the tournament is over and if Canada doesn't win, I'll blast the choice. If they do? I can't say much.

We all know that when you are too good offensively, you will be considered and a liability defensively.

70 points, +10 < 30 points, +12

Subban should stop getting points if he wants to play for team Canada.

If this is what Mike Babcock thinks, then you see why Michel Therrien is hard on him.

Dreger is a coach?

I don't care how little NHL experience I have. I'm gonna have a very tough time believing anybody would pick 37 yo Dan Boyle who's concussed over PK Subban. That's proof enough it's BS. It makes no sense. It's like saying Ryan White is better than Prust. You don't need to be a hockey insider, coach, scout or GM to know that it doesn't make any sense.
And PK too much of a risk, but Letang isn't? What?

This makes sense to you?

There's no doubt in my mind he makes Team Canada. How could they possibly justify leaving out the Norris winner who's leading the NHL in points again? Even if he was a liability(which he isn't), it makes no sense.
It's the same stupid media agenda about how PK shouldn't win the Norris.

If you think he's 8th at best on team canada alone, that means what, he's not even top 10 in the NHL, top 15??

Subban is a definite lock for Team Canada. I think he will be able to play all RH positions: PP, even-strength on the first or second pairing, PK.

Not the first time that I hear that from people. I had heard it from ex-players close to the NHL too and close to the Hockey Canada bunch. They don't like his high-risk kind of play.

We've seen Team Canada make mistakes before and this would be another one. Esp on that big ice surface the guy would be absolutely amazing.

I think I posted this yesterday but I'll post it again. If he doesn't make it I'll be upset - not as a Canadiens fan - but as a fan of Team Canada.

I support the #dregerisaclown movement, however I have to remind everyone that even clowns are allowed to have an opinion.

If they don't then why is Letang there?
Again, makes no sense. It's also one thing to say he's a liability, it's another to say a 37yo concussed player (who's not even playing at the moment!!!) is ahead of him.

How can anybody say ''I'll pick the old injured guy over the Norris winner!''??? .

It's BS buddy. PK will make the team unless his play worsens big time.

Also, as for the high risk plays, those players are usually even better on bigger ice surface.
They had no problem picking a 20 yo high risk Drew Doughty btw.

Babcock said he wants LHD on the left side and RHD on the right side. We all know how in love people are with Weber, Pietrangelo and Doughty so I can understand how they would say he'll be an extra guy (which is ridiculous).

However, it's laughable to even think about taking lesser players because they're LHD when Doughty and Pietrangelo have shown they can play the other side, why not take the best? I don't want Marc Staal and Bouwmeester anywhere near team Canada. Bouwmeester has never played a meaningful game in his life and I don't care that he's paired with Pietrangelo right now, Pie and Subban together would be 10x better.

UGH, TSN is so annoying sometiems and the worst part is that everyone in the league watches it constantly and listens to this ****. If you hear it enough eventually people start believing it, just how Subban apparently is a defensive liability ughhhh.

Honestly, if MT would get his head of his ass and treat Subban with some respect and give him the ice time he deserves this woudn't even be a topic, he'd be running away with the Norris up to this point.

There is absolutely zero people in the league you would want on the PP than Subban. He is the single biggest threat sitting back there with that bomb and his ability to keep plays alive. My goodness, he should be there for that alone let alone his Norris and sparkling start to the season.

I blame Therrien for this. The guy does not play PK on the PK so people figure PK is a liability in his own zone.

Of all the TSN guys, Dreger is by far the worst. Let's face it, this is a heavily Toronto biased network, but Dreger has time after time demonstrated that he is always out to lunch.

Total Pos.

You should see him in the stands when his kid is playing. One of those dads screaming at the refs and blowing his lid over minor hockey, guy needs to get a grip in general.

The problem is Babcock was interviewed earlier he wants an even number of RD and LD, and the only LD you listed is Keith. I don't understand why Subban is behind Boyle and Letang but a lot can change on a couple of months

Babcock has 6 LHD playing on his team right now haha. Perhaps he should sit some for a couple RHD from Grand Rapids and see how long he has a job.

If Subban isn't on the team, I fire MT immediately!

Yup, offense alone should get him on the team. Even as a PP specialist. But fact is that the guy is solid in his own end as well.

As far as him being risky... I can understand why people think it. He does things that other guys can't. I used to see it as a liability but you watch him enough and you see that he can get away with it. That's part of what makes him so effective.

It would be a big mistake not to have him on the team. But we've seen it before. Yzerman not being on in 87 or 91 come to mind immediately.

Yeah I know he mentioned during it in the interview but with him being the coach he obviously has a lot of influence in who they will choose. I would like to see someone ask MT if he thinks Subban should make the Olympics and see how he answers it

QFT. Also an Olympic snub could be a real motivating factor for Subban in the 2nd half of the regular season.

Guys, I think we should all begin to come to terms that PK may not make team Canada.
The hype about him around the league is, for the most part negative, (even despite the Norris).
His style of playing defence is unorthodox and leaves you a little bit nervous.
So, it's very possible he gets off the team... but ...
like all controversial decisions, no one cares if they win.

So if Canada leaves the Norris trophy winner off the team for a Vlasic or a Phaneuf, they had better win.
