No no no! That's not the way to be positive!

We need something like:

Our d-men are going to break out and play to their potential so that Nuge's great play can shine through!

Yes. That has a much better ring to it!

Awww, has our little nugey hit puberty now and expecting to break out in zits?

Positive: After 7 years of suck I am emotionally unattached and I'm ok with losses, they no longer piss me off and ruin my nights.

I can't say wins piss me off either...

Edit: Sorry Rin... I did indeed

Only way to go is up

The official optimism thread. Thought there isn't a lot to be optimistic about, here are a few things.

-We haven't had any bounces, I know this is the usual looser's moto, However, it wouldn't take to much and we could be 5-8 instead of 3-10.
- young teams are streaky, by nature. So we are in a bad stretch now, but we probably have another really good one around the corner.
- If you realize nuge is coming of shoulder surgery, we lost gagner, I am not sure any would should have expected us to have a strong start.
- This will build character. This team needs to suffer to know how to win. It might be the best to struggle back this year, miss the playoffs, but next year we will take off.
- well it would have been nice to at least compete for the playoffs this year, we weren't going to do anything if we made it. This bad start gets us another good pick. I just hope it isn't top 5.
- We could be Buffalo.

Heres to hoping we look back at this as the low point in the year.

Now I feel better. But your right, " If it weren't for bad luck, they would have no luck at all"

I think there's an old blues song, where one of the lines is.."been down so long, don't know which way is up."

As of right now, we're on pace to screw even that up, with Buffalo being the masters of true suckage.

Looking forward to having Ekblad and McDavid. That will really solidify our prospect pool.

Gordon is good. Arcobello doesn't suck. Pitlick isn't a total bust. Joensuu looked like Lindros for two periods. We managed to get a serviceable NHL defenseman (Belov) for free.

That's all I got.

If you want cynical positivity, I suppose you could say that the truth has been revealed and we can now quit kidding ourselves that this core is going anywhere.

Eakins is a coach who finally isn't here to just cover up the problems but focus on them and fix it.

MacT actually made good moves with Gordon, Perron/Paajarvi, Ference. Just need more of them.

Nuge's shoulder is great post surgery.

Nurse will be a heck of a Dman.

MacT's additions to these team, save Labarberra (and Grebs I guess), have all been good to great. His stock in Hemmer has paid off.

Belov, Gordon, Joensuu and Perron have been unbelievable additions.

We're out shooting the opponent most nights, and out chancing them almost every night.

Compete for 50/50 pucks.

The Perron/MSP trade was a massive win for us.

Sure. Giving up our most tradeable asset for a cap dump, an oft injured small stature player was a stroke of genius. Plan the parade.

I thought this was a message board, where discussion is encouraged. My bad.

Devan Dubnyk is the second coming of Ken Dryden.

You'd rather have MSP?

Our most tradeable asset?

How many of us are really happy about Perron, other than the fact that he is ill? He has been a bright spot in the black hole that is our record.
