It seems a little rich, but he's an important piece on their back-end.

If I'm Mac-T, I'm thinking that could be a benchmark for a Petry contract extension that could be signed very soon. But I'm not him, so I wouldn't be shocked to see him moved out of town at any point during this travesty of a season.

He hits..
350+ hits in ~100 NHL games..

A team full of small players wasnt going to let him walk away as UFA after this season.

Perron had an illness when he was scratched. I don't think he was ever hurt. I think its to give Oilers an extra forward maybe? I got no clue

To Phx:
Eberle
2015 1st
Marcinin/Gernat/Musil/anyone not named Nurse/Klefbom

To Edm:
OEL

Do you think this is enough from Edmonton to get it done? Eberle is the best fit for Phoenix's system out of our young guns.

Young stud defence man seem to hold a higher value than young forwards. As crappy as it would be to trade Eberle, I think a player like OEL could really improve this team more than a player like Eberle can.

I get this just seems early for a defensive d-man.

We have room for an extra forward at the very least. With the PK struggling they probably try fit him in to help.

Sign Fistric if you want hits. Defensive d-men are risky business. One that isn't playing and will be coming back from a knee surgery just adds to it.

I don't think Phoenix has any interest in trading OEL

There is zero reason for Phoenix to move OEL. You want him you need to probably give up two of our superstars. He plays 2 or 3 minutes more a night than anyone else on that defense. Leads them in points and is only 22. He is a guy who could very well be winning Norris Trophies soon.

LOL.

OEL is untouchable on Phoenix. Teams don't trade #1 d-men under the age of 24.

Is anyone aware of whether or not Belov spent any time paired with Nikitin while in Omsk? From what I can tell they were on the team together for a number of years. Maybe that would make a nice pair if we could acquire Nikitin. I'm sure it would help Belov fully adjust to the NHL game a little quicker too.

Have you guys actually seen Emelin Play? he does more than just hit. He can skate, can move the puck and puts fear in forwards entering the zone. He is compared to Darius Kasperitus. There is a reason Montreal tanked last year after he got hurt. On this Oilers team he would be the number guy.

And as far as knee surgeries go? this isn't 1975, knee surgeries happen all the time. Remember why Galchenyuk fell to number 3, he also had knee surgery and has come back stronger. The only reason Emilin is still out is because he couldn't have surgery until the swelling on his knee went down and for some reason that took almost 5 weeks before they could perform surgery. He is back skating but the Habs are winning games so no use rushing him back. Thats what you can do when you have depth.

Honestly I'd add more

Eberle, J. Schultz, First or Klefbom, maybe even another pick or propsect

Seems like a lot but I like OEL alot

To acquire OEL you're going to have to start with Taylor Hall.

Good chance that it could get it done.

The only chance the Oilers have of getting OEL is if RNH or Hall is going the other way.

I don't see why the Jackets would need Hemsky....and frankly we need Hemmer.

We've already dealt our 2nd in the Perron trade....I would trade Marincin or another one of our 2nd tier d-men prospects for him.

We need Hemsky like we need another own zone turn over. Can we flush this guy already. As far as Nikitin goes, just get it done. J Schultz isn't working in the top four. If he was guaranteed top four minutes to sign then I'll start to agree with everyone else who wants to flush the front office starting with klowe.

That's insulting to Phoenix.

I'd easily offer Eberle, J Schultz, Klefbom, 1st, 2nd for OEL and they'd still say no.

I get that people want to make a trade but we're seriously wasting our time with proposals involving OEL and Weber. It's just never going to happen.
