#1 in the league at 92%

Like this trade. Like it a lot. At the very worst, we clear cap space this summer.

I think he will pick it back up in Colorado. Downie at least has upside on offense which we need but worry about injuries. This may be a lateral move...

I wonder if we can ship Gervais to Colorado too....
Maybe they look to move Simmonds now? *shoulder shrug*

Thinking this'll be a lead in to further moves, but I guess we'll see.

I despise him. I didn't follow him at all in Tampa or Colorado because of how much I disliked him, but he better have matured on the ice. There are so many good things about him because he does have talent and he will stick up for every single one of his teammates, but wow is he a maniac on the ice sometimes.

It's clear we got the better player though so that's always good.

Moves like this are really the only ones I'd like to see at this point. I DON'T want to trade the core players, even if they are struggling.

Congrats on the fleece, Philly fans. This is the most imbecilic move the Avs have made in years and you're the beneficiaries. You'll have a blast watching him, trust me...there's not a better team-first guy in the league.

Way to go, Homer! You're still an imbecile, but I love me some Steve Downie.

Seems like just yesterday a few of us had our "Free Downie" avys when he got 20 games for hitting Dean McAmmond.

That PK# has to be skewed because aren't they getting a combined like .970 SV % from their goalies? That's unsustainable.

I don't understand why COL would make this move

I didn't dislike Talbot, but the guy was a 4th liner who couldn't score (his 1st season here was a fluke) but was good on the PK

Downie can at least produce

not surprising that we bring back an ex-Flyer

who is next? Uppy?

One of my favorite former Flyers returning. Now if they can just get Justin Williams for Adam Hall?

The Flyers sacrificed someone who can kill penalties for a guy who could help out on the top 6. Downie is a UFA after this season. So we will see how that works out.

Downie is 26. I feel like he should've been older.

I think Hall is back in the lineup for good now.

But I guess this means Raffl to ADR for now

This is a very strange move. The Avs don't need cap space so that is out. Maybe Downie wanted more than he is worth in his next contract?

Hopefully he won't be looking for a huge raise and we'll be able to look into resigning him, shouldn't be too hard with Meszaros, and Timonen off the books next season.

I wasnt Downies biggiest fan back in the day but it seems he has calmed down abit and focuses more on offense.

For Max Talbot its a steal easily.
