Trade winds blowing between Ottawa and Florida? Maybe young forward/scorer headed north with D and/or goaltending to Sunshine State...
Don't know who this guy is but something like that would make sense. Andy was a great backup for them.

Spitballing here:

Anderson
Cowen

for

Clemmensen
Versteeg
Kulikov

Sens would take on approx $1.8 in salary for this season. Not too crazy.

Again, Im just bored and firing out ideas.

I can't see Ottawa moving Anderson this early in the season.

Wrong. I am basing this off what Denis Potvin said during our last game against San Jose.

Wrong again. If you actually ****ing read my post you would see that I said if all things are equal size wins. Therefore you don't need any small players on your team as long as all of your big players are fast and skilled enough.

The only reason why you may want to have some small players in the lineup is usually you are required to sacrifice a bit of size and skill when you sign or draft bigger players. But even then Denis Potivin also said that in his opinion the NHL is becoming a big mans game and that in the future teams will start filling out their rosters with bigger players. This actually makes a lot of sense considering the fact that bigger players at the junior level are now forced to become better and faster skaters, as well as more skilled in order to get drafted.

He has another tweet that provided a bit more information

I cant see that being true... in fact I hope its not, because the only tradeable players in those positions are Cowen, Wiercioch, Anderson and Lehner.

Because we don't have enough scoring forwards on this team/in the system.

If we pull any trades off in the near future and get anything other than a defender who can actually defend, or an excellent 2 way forward.....this guy won't be happy.

Lol, there is your problem. I provided a link to the actual stats. Learn yourself.

Hey, I agree. The most optimal thing is to have big, strong, fast, skilled players. That's the idealistic view. But there's also nothing wrong a couple of the small guys. They can bring a different angle on things. What I have issue is with just replacing the small guys with just big guys without any thought on the actual extra variables. If you read what I wrote, it's about balance. Just like in life.

I don't know. I wouldn't trade Andy right now. Although I like the players listed, I'd be apprehensive in trading our starting goaltender no matter how good Lehner looks. This off-season though, anything goes.

I doubt it too be honest. Way to early in the season. He does not share the full blame for our loses this year. The team has been leaving him out to dry in pretty much every game they play.

Thomas is always getting hurt and markstrom is not really the goalie that everybody thought he was going to be?
