I think flights to LHR are dropped only from January to March, it will still be flying daily during summer months.

Was headed there for practice:

http://www.edmontonjournal.com/badly...190/story.html

It's outside YEG and all, but still, its pretty important to the Oilers organization. Pretty crazy stuff.

I apologize for the confusion with the title. I assumed most people would still stick to the no politics rule so the title was a bit tongue in cheek. I have clarified it.

As much as people might want to discuss the election, we still have to stick to the site rules
Quote:
10) Off-Topic Posting: Posts are to be on the topic of the board description where they're posted. Off Topic posts may be moved or closed at the moderators discretion. We do not allow homework threads. All political discussion is to be done on the Political Discussion Forum.
Here is a link if people would like to start up a thread there to discuss the Edmonton election.

Edit: If you have issue with the sites rules, the proper avenue is to email complaints@hfboards.com.

Read something about a tower going up downtown that could end up being the 2nd tallest in Canada. Sounds like between closing that airport and the new arena that people want to build.

Yeah, 71 stories tall, The Edmontonian:

I would love to see that. Crazy how it would absolutely dominate the skyline here but still be just a medium tall skyscraper in NY. Makes the EPCOR building look like a small box instead of the tallest current building in Edmonton.

You are correct! **** LHR in the winter though...I'm still angry! I got stuck in that piece of **** airport for days (well 26 hours until I managed to get a way out while others were stuck for days) the ONE time I flew there in winter on a connecting flight.

In the way that you mention it kind of a mixed blessing as it makes all the rest of our skyline look like its Saskatoon or something. Bow does this to some extent as well in Calgary but with Calgary already having several towers higher than anything in Edmonton.

so there was a cop patrol capturing people going DOWN smith crossing hill yesterday from terwilliger side.

Its ridiculous. They could be ANYWHERE, school zones, residential areas, but they chose to get guys going down a hill lol

like seriously, you gotta accelerate again when you hit the bottom cuz you gotta go up the hill again.

If you got a ticket I would seriously use that argument to challenge it. You gotta ride breaks to avoid breaking speed limit in inclines like that. Any normal person builds up a little speed to make the uphill grade. Especially in perfect road conditions.

It really is cashgrab and serves no other purpose in situations like that.

They always do that unfortunately... that hill and the one down 111 going south.

speaking of photo radar, 109th from 61st to Whyte must be a gravy train... it's amazing how many people speed down that strip, not knowing it's 50. they had the radar up there on Friday for people heading southbound and I saw lots of people getting pulled over, everytime.
