What do you guys think of Troy Bourke? The kid is playing pretty damn well this year and has progressed every year since we drafted him?

As he should being one of the older players in the WHL at this point.

I think I remember Roy having good things to say about him at camp. He's another undersized guy haha. Between Sgarbossa, Aggozino, Hishon, Bourke, Smith and Blandisi one of them has to make it to the NHL haha. Am I leaving any other 5'9"-5'10" center out?

edit: Michael Clarke in this group as well.

Has anyone seen the games Hishon played this season, if so hows he looking. i've never wanted a kid to make it bad as him. i can still remember watching him that year Mcnabb took him out i was thinking we got a damn special player in him, then bang gone from hockey for a long time. i hope that POS can't find a league to play in sides a beer league

If you read this thread and the Monsters/Cut Throats one you'll find your answer pretty easily

I've always loved him, had him ranked in my top 30 his draft year, so I was thrilled to see the Avs pick him in the 3rd round. He's a pretty small guy, so he'll need to bulk up but the skill and talent is there. By all accounts, he was very good on a line with Dutchy and ROR in pre-season. I have high hopes, I think he'll be a player.

Bourke is captain too. He's an intriguing prospect. So he'll be in Lake Erie next year?

Jesus..... Horrible news.

How is this even possible? How can anyone be so unlucky? Or Is it because of his playing style? Gosh!

I'm listening to the game, the whole not moving thing wasn't the sentiment on the broadcast. He was down and said he went back to the bench. I'll let you know if they say anything further.

the guy should buy lottery tickets or something , his luck will turn arround . It's impossible for a guy to be unlucky like that , that's simply unbelievable

After this contract is up, it's time for the Avs to cut ties. The guy just can't stay healthy.

I honestly hope he quits after this. At some point you've got to maintain your health for what's left in the rest of your lifetime. He's young and can still have a bright future somewhere else in hockey.

Why wouldnt you even wait until there will be some news on him?
He obviously left the game but this doesnt mean anything at all.

Hope he's fine.

Repeated concussion history and leaving the game from a "headshot". You are technically right that it could be anything including being caution, but common sense says otherwise, sadly.

Bonzai is right though, if he did sustain another concussion he should probably quit. If you suffer too many concussions (Read an article that shows once you have a concussion you have a great chance of suffering another one and likewise for 2+), one could kill you from swelling of the brain, called second-impact syndrome.

Among the Long Term Effects of a concussion, I think he could even suffer from symptoms similar to Parkinson .

Yikes... at some point you have to start thinking about your long-term health instead of hockey. I'd love to see him make the NHL, but not at the cost of an enjoyable life.

Jeez, some guys get no luck at all. Hope he's ok but if it's another concussion I truly hope he thinks about his quality of life instead of just playing.

He hasn't been impressive in previous years but this season he is the top playing on the P.G. Cougars. He is definitely making a push to get into the NHL next season.
