I'll say this.

I love Josi, but he is not as godd as Jones, and I don't care what his Milwaukee coach said about his talent level.

Jones is equal or better than Josi right now.

The Milwaukee coach probably won't get the chance to watch Jones like he did Josi though. Which tells you a lot about Jones.

This is true.

Most of you know, I watch the defensemen more than anything else and Jones just does some incredible stuff.

I love how he's not touching it. I'll touch it when I win it as a player because I know I'm that damn good.

Asked Seth Jones if he knew fans considered him an American hero. He laughed and said "yes, it's an honor." Then Ellis started a USA chant.

Interesting stat in this thread

Quote:
NHL teams that find themselves four points or more out of a playoff spot on November 1 almost never recover to make the postseason.
...
In the seven seasons since the 2005-06 lockout,2 only three teams have managed the comeback: the 2006-07 Flames, the 2010-11 Sabres, and the 2011-12 Bruins.
It's not a very scientific stat, but the results are pretty stunning IMO. Nashville sits 2 points behind St. Louis, but they've played an unusually low amount of games so far. We're 4 points out of the last Wildcard spot.

Different setup, throw the stats from the 6 division NHL out the window

How does the NFL get exempt from this law?

I'm pretty sure that other states have a "Jock Tax". Is the PA suing those states as well?

If the league is reimbursing the players, what's the problem?

Love the typical comments to that article. "Just one more reason to move the Preds to CANADA", "Hockey doesn't belong in Nashville".

NFL has better lawyers is the only answer.

The NFL is somehow a Non-Profit organization. The others aren't. That is the only thing I can think of for allowing them an exemption.

Are we really winless without Forsberg in the line-up?

I think you're missing the point, which is teams that are bad this early in the season are very likely to be bad over the course of a full season.

How far were the Kings out of contention in February before winning the Cup?

We start off bad most years.

Last season our bad start had us 4th in the West at the 25 game mark.

They weren't.... is this a trick question?

Not exactly true. This is the first season since the '05 lockout being 4 points out of a playoff spot after 1 month.

False. Nashville was out of a playoff spot at the 25 game mark last year.

My bad ... it was January when they were out of of a playoff spot. In late December 2011, the Kings were 4+ points out of a spot.

I get your point though. Yes, every once in a blue moon a team disregards this trend. I hope that is us this year, but the odds are greatly against us.

For the record, LA was tied for 4th in the West on November 1st of their Cup year. They started and finished strong, but were weak in the middle.

The stat doesn't really account for games in hand either. It's a snapshot that has so many variables in it that it's impossible to use definitively. We're 4 points back from the last spot, with a game in hand .... so are we really 4 points out, or 2?
