Tangradi was a trade. Halischuk was a UFA signing.

Ellerby's at best an alright spare defenseman. Not a guy you want playing every night. The Jets didn't have many options. He's better than some of the guys they could have played instead. They have a ton of injuries on defense right now.

When they get healthy it wouldn't surprise me if he goes back on waivers. The Kings can claim him back and send him directly to Manchester if no one else puts in a claim.

I think if we could get im to mancheaster a full year playing top defensive mins would do a world of good for him so yes please send him back when ur done

Worked for the Islanders, so why not try their hand at it? The only problem for the Jets is that they need a better coach and maybe some of these claims might actually work out or in most cases, they'll find out WHY they were waived. But the coaching change probably does need to happen.

Jets had two defensemen who are prospects (Chiarot + Melchiori) up on the NHL team...

Trouba
Stuart
Postma
Redmond

...all injured, with Bogosian also being a bit banged up.

This waiver wire was needed almost regardless of who the player was.
