I believe Collberg has to have permission from Frolunda in order to go to the AHL.

Swedish Player that are selected after the first round, need permission from their in order to go to the AHL or CHL. Most be part of the transfer agreement with the NHL.
Because I remember that the teams that have the right for DLR in the CHL were hoping and even pushing for him to get pick in the first round so he could come over this year.

When he came to Montreal during pre-season he said he wanted to either play in the AHL or the NHL and the Habs sent him back to Sweden. I gather Habs and Collberg were the ones to choose wether or not he was playing in the AHL. I could be wrong though.

live Collberg (#49) vs DLR (#9 blue)

Not the best quality but it's free. Collberg's line just scored but it was against DLR, as DLR went to get the puck but his stick was lifted from behind.

No, it was pretty clear it was Frolunda or Montreal.

Collberg has played 11:26 with 3 shots so far through 2, not sure what to make of it since he was listed on the 4th line in the boxscore to start.

Well he said himself it was his goal when he came to camp, we were all surprised.

Collberg was listed on the 4th line but he saw time on the PP and had a few chances in close but couldn't convert. He also missed on a low shot during the shootout.

DLR had a great rush up ice that had he converted it would have been highlight reel all the way as he tried to stickhandle through 3 players and almost had it but then lost it off his stick.

too bad would've loved to see that. I remember when some reporter asked DLR if he described himself as a skilled player at the draft and DLR answered 'no'. I think he was being a 'bit' modest. He always looks like he has pretty solid hands in any highlight video I see.

I think he might be my favourite pick of our draft.

I'm very impressed with how it's gone for DLR so far this year, he was getting good ice time and was involved in the game plus he's got the physical tools (size, skating, speed) and should end up adding to that frame over the next several years.

A whole 2:23 of icetime after 2 periods in his game today, and he's +1 with 1 SOG. Let's see if he ends with more than 3 min of ice when the game ends

Update: Didn't see one shift in the 3rd, so ends the game with a whopping 2:23 of icetime. This is honestly getting sad and pathetic.

No idea why European teams keep offensively minded players on their fourth line instead of sending them down and use role players on that line.

Well it sure is looking like that. Lol

Seriously I remember people saying with the new coach he would be used a lot... surely something is going on. Maybe there was legit reasons for hik falling to the second round..

I still hope he make it but is downgrading in our top prospect list big time.

Collberg had a chance to grab a good offensive role, but chose to try to be Mr. NHL All-Star and went to Montreal's camp instead. Meanwhile, other lines started to mesh. We'll see what happens after the WJC, hopefully he can get some confidence out of that, because he is always the best forward on the U20 national team. Right now, he should be happy that he gets to go on the powerplay, because he is getting absolutely nothing done on ES.

Team plays today (1 PM ET) at Lulea. Collberg is on a line with McGrath and Kahnberg, a duo that was really heating up prior to the break.

Yeah, what a bum, actually trying to prove his worth to the most storied franchise of the best hockey league in the world.

Which team, though? He's not even drafted by a CHL club.

It was pretty obvious that he wasn't gonna make the Habs, no?

Collberg can't seem to handle playing against men, especially defensemen who know how to use their sticks to play D. He can't beat guys one on one at the SHL level.

It did nothing for him though, if his priority was adjusting to North American ice ASAP then his agent should have discussed a buyout with Bergevin and Frolunda. This yo-yoing has only hurt him.

It's pretty damn obvious his long term goal isn't to play in the SEL neither...

My point is that he should be able to participate in an NHL training camp without having Swedish Fans calling him a big head for doing so. Especially considering what his franchise did for him last season (basically underusing him a whole year)

Yeah. He only has himself to blame for the situation he's in now, though.

Maybe if he had come back from camp hungry, and not floating, fans wouldn't be as upset with him.
