Nice Article on Shanny on NHL.COM

didnt know if you guys saw this, but a nice article and Shanahan and his experience in NY playing alongside Cullen and now Immo.

Asked what he likes about playing with Cullen, Shanahan started quickly.

"Matt Cullen has brought a lot to this team ..." Shanahan said, his voice trailing off, as if he couldn't think of anything, to the chagrin of Cullen, who was sitting next to him.

Good read, I especially like the last little bit after the part you quoted were they go back and forth a little bit. Its always good to see teamates getting along, especially in NY were it seems like in every other sport players are calling each other or coaches out in the media seemingly every other day. I am as everyone else is glad to have a leader like Shanny on the roster this season.

Good read, great leader. Imagine what his #'s would be like with a proven #2 center.

I like this from Renney:

"He brings such good habits and a good attitude. He's been through so many things. To have a reference point like that in your dressing room, on the bench, on the bus, or wherever he may be, has been huge for us. Never mind the way the guy plays. He's a real competitor and a warrior. That does have terrific residual on the rest of us."

Also I like Shanny and Cullen's humour

You know it's funny but Shanahan really does about everything you could ask.

He's a perfect example of a guy who has great numbers, but who is more than just the numbers.

Leadership doesn't show on a stat sheet nor does the fact that despite having 2 assists in the Dallas game, the guy was on and easily could've had 2 goals in addition to those assists.

He doesn't have any fights on the season but the stats don't show he was perfectly willing to get in 3 or 4 already so it's not for lack of willingness.

The guy can play all 3 forward positions, work the PP and the PK and lighten the mood in the locker room.

The only "weakness" the guy ever had was skating, but he's an above average skater. He's just not elite level like he is in other areas.
