I cannot think of one reason that any of that coaching staff should return next season.

Ed Hervey was an epic fail as well.

What sad times for us Edmonton fans right now. Both teams suck so bad I can't even defend them when I get heckled at work anymore.

I just got nothing.

nobody even bugs me any more. after years of both teams sucking, it's like kicking a dead horse. it isn't even fun for them at this point, either.

wake me when Rhodes gets fired.

You know Gord, after watching that ***** show of a hockey game last night and thinking about the Eskimos' season, I am absolutely certain these franchises have been cursed.

How can two organizations fail so epically for so long and nothing ever changes? I just don't get it.

As long as there is incompetent management/ownership, this stuff can take root and last a long, long time.

Lots of posters make predictions or make incorrect assessments. We're all guilty of it.

When we were 1-9 I said I still expected a 4-14 record based on a decent level of talent at most positions, I guess they did me proud. The coaches single-handedly blew 5 games this season, with even average coaching we could have been 9-9 and competed for a playoff spot. That bodes well for next year if we fire Reed, but I have no confidence at all that the org. will even do that, and will probably make a brutal hire even if they do fire him.

Theres some real good players in the lineup and I like that moving forward if we can retain them. But will everybody stick around and who will we lose in the Ottawa draft.

According to Gerry Modejonge of the Journal, some of the likely personnel changes will be -

FA WR Cary Koch signing elsewhere.

FA LB Damaso Munosz trying his luck in the NFL. (Good luck with that)

FA NT Ted Laurent also trying the NFL.

Goodbye, Kavis. I like you a lot but you can't coach.

Kavis Reed had his season-ending press conference today. It was his last as head coach. Hervey will clean house. #Esks

So who should be the next head coach?

Realistic candidates???

Honestly I haven't followed the Eskimos in a few years but with the Oilers depressing me so much, maybe it's time to get behind Hervey's new coach.

Campbell would be a joke of a hire, but stupidity is the order of the day with this franchise so it wouldn't surprise me one bit. We've been hearing rumblings that he's a candidate for weeks.

Why would Hervey still have a job?

I'm surprised that Hervey didn't come out in the media today saying the Eskimos big win over the Riders proves the players love playing for Reed. Maybe it'll come later in the week.

Fan-****ing-tastic. I guess that will mean another season of me paying little attention to the Eskimos.

How soon they forget...........???

Its amazing how soon people forget.............a few years back people hated Rick Campell..........because of "nepotism" or whatever..........now some are shouting his name because he is on a winning team???

Get real people........hire Paul LaPolice............!!!

Overly harsh. It's now irrelevant how/why Rick Campbell was originally hired as an assistant coach by the Eskimos because the guy has paid his dues and has been part of several winning teams. Besides, mellowed-out RC might be nice change of pace from overly emotional Coach Kavis- especially when it comes to eliminating the sideline chaos of the Reed era.

No matter who the Esks hire as their next head coach, they absolutely must do a thorough and proper candidate search this time.

I agree that he's not the same coach he was before. He still wouldn't be my choice.

I wouldn't be against Campbell. If they're going to hire a coach without previous head coaching experience, he's as good a pick as anyone. But personally I'd go for Marcel Bellefeuille if Winnipeg doesn't make him head coach.

Probably not mine either. I'm also far from sold on LaPolice or Dickenson at this point too. I hope Ed Hervey realizes that this is his make-or-break hire as a GM and diligently seeks out the best person available.
