Hawks fall to Flames in OT 3-2

Ran into a helluva first start by Berra. All that can be said.

What a snoozefest. Change the lines more Q... its not like the starting lines didn't score 4.5 gpg the last five games.

Nice that we gave the rookie goalie a win in his first ever nhl game!

The flames looked a lot better than I expected.

Crawford was not at fault for any of the goals.

Gotta feel pretty good for Berra.

Other than that, not much to see here. Nothing wrong with getting a point in November.

Didn't say he was, but Berra was the better goalie tonight.

The Chicago Blackhawks piss away another point on home ice.

Unacceptable result, especially considering it was the Calgary Flames.

Apparently after the game Berra said; "it's never over til its over.."

That's all I got and yes, I'll be here all week!

The rocket off the post? Well technically all shots are stoppable.

The overtime goal was a weak effort by Crawford.

Except for the long 5 on 3 and the extention yo 5 on 4 when we did score...O thought we did not make Berra sweat that much...yes lots of routine shots but not many grade "A" scoring chances by us on the rookie..Crawford facing a lot less shots I thought made more saves on the CGY grade "A" chances but alas 2 deflected change of direction shots got by him and the wicked shot off the rush by Glencross. ..I do not thonk we had any of our forwards get off an unobstructed wicked shot off the rush on Berra...anyway full marks to CGY for their compete level over 3 periods and in the OT...they blocked tons of shots in the game and the played well on the forecheck and backcheck...they never quit...Toews was not very good..not that he did not try..but CGY stymied his talent and he was unable to elevate to what was required from a "greatness" moniker attached to him..for his standards he was MEH..SHARP was MIA...doing nothing to make any difference...Kane gave us a few good shifts..one spectacular on his goal and a nice assist setting up Hossa on the Pp goal..but even he was limited by CGY to pretty much those 2 danger plays leading to thour 2 goals..Hossa played hard two ways and I thought was the most compete guy of our big 4 stars up front..But where is Keith and his $6million making much difference for us? It hurts to see Russell and Wideman for CGY get off bomb shots from the point that we cannot blockand they get changed direction deflected in..but Keith either misses the net on his shots...or gets them blocked..or if they do occaisionally get through, they get easily stopped by the goalie or never get deflected in by our guys. .Keith is one of the worstbpoint shooters for the money he makes out of the entire NHL !

Their goalie played well, but I didn't think he was as good as the saves/percentage indicates. He was very shaky in the first letting up multiple bad rebounds and handling others like a grenade. Hawks just didn't capitalize on their chances and let him settle down later in the game. Hawks looked every bit like they played a game last night. Calgary's defense impressed me more. Q will be better later in the season, but it's frustrating he's not trusting guys like Pirri and Morin when the games are tight/late, especially putting in guys who are much less talented to try and create offense because he still doesn't have the trust yet of their defensive play. Speaking of defensive play, IMO, Leddy was our best defensemen in this game.

Hurray for the loser point!

Seriously though glad we got it, it looked like another one of those nights where the goalie on the other side decides to have a game of his life type performance.

Meh, disappointing loss, but not one that I'm mad at. Just gotta tip my hat to Berra for his first start.
