You should be enjoying these games and trust in Sam Hinkie. It's difficult to judge this team objectively after 3 games. But they are entertaining as hell. More than we can say about any other Philadelphia team playing right now. I want a top 3 pick as bad as everyone, but I trust in our GM.
This could backfire, you bring in guys who know they are being brought in to lose, they have a lot of youth, the ultimate chip on their shoulder, these guys wanna prove everyone wrong. I am loving MCW. He looks like he's gonna be a STUD.
"Help was not promised, lovely girl. Only death."
Well on one hand, winning too much would throw a wrench in our plans. But on the other hand, it would be great if MCW continues to look like a steal at the 11th pick, and if Tony Wroten can become a solid player. And if Turner and Hawes keep playing well and driving up their trade value, they probably won't be around to help us win games for too much longer.
Like I noted and confirmed in the article..Sixers can't play a half court game or they are toast. However, they have the legs and youth to continue to run but not sure how that will play out over the course of a long season. I will say the freelance offense they are deploying is fun to watch and I'm sure fun for the players. If they had Nerlens in the middle forget about a top 5 pick..but there is still a chance they can't sustain this even though it is fun to watch. Beats the Flyers putrid and uninspired play...
Funny how the Sixers and the Eagles have a dynamic offense while the Flyers are lame now in that dept...Phillies I guess also blow.
After three games, the Sixers’ ability to run, get shots in the paint and then run some more has been evident. The 3-0 start with wins over the Heat, Wizards and Bulls has come, in part, because when the opposition starts sucking wind, the Sixers keep running.
Former MVP Derrick Rose said as much after the Sixers overcame a 20-point deficit in the third quarter to stun the Bulls on Saturday night.
“We took a breath and they kept going,” Rose said after the game.
But according to coach Brett Brown, the Sixers can do better. They can go much faster.
“I think it’s a B. I think we need to get it up to a B-plus to an A,” Brown said grading his team's up-tempo pace on offense. “I think it’s good, but it’s not great. At times it’s great, but it’s not consistent.”
As Brown says, if the Sixers get caught in a half-court game, they are in trouble. In able to survive, Brown wants his team to push the basketball.
If that's the case, as the season goes on teams will adapt and the Sixers will start to lose more and more. I like this team a lot and I hope they can continue to develop. Brett Brown seems like a great choice so far.
Hinkie is a smart man....wish we had a GM like him with a true longitudinal plan and an eye for assembling the right mix of players on a team. He was very good in Houston and now so far things are looking good here even though it might not sustain. I still like his vision and the coach was an excellent choice for developing this group. The team already has good chemistry..they enjoy playing with each other but winning does that..
I have to say though that we absolutely have to get one of the top 5 picks to get to that next level or at least sign some impact FA's which they will have the money to do.
