One of the stories up here in Canada is how the Lightning GM has said "anyone except the Big Three (lecav, st louis, richards) is fair game" as trade bait as the team has struggled for a while. I'm wondering if it was possible to pry Danny Boyle off of TBL and ship him to Edmonton?
Something along the lines of:
Boyle for:
Daniel Tjarnqvist
Tom Gilbert (Oilers top defensive prospect)
2nd-rounder
If you guys want a 1st, then you'll have to take someone but Gilbert. Tjarnqvist is a solid defenseman that plays 22-23 minutes a night. I know this may not be the solution to the Lightning's problems, so we might as well switch forwards or something. But my main question is Boyle available?

That's some careless use of quotes there, Hemsky.
He didn't say that.
The article said Feaster was happy with the Big 3: "I'm not displeased with the play of (Vincent) Lecavalier, (Martin) St. Louis and (Brad) Richards. They've been very good."
Then the writer said "In other words, aside from The Big Three, he's open for business."
So the writer is putting words in his mouth. (A pet peeve of mine)
When Feaster talks about the team's core, he always mentions Boyle. There was one point during the summer where they named 3 and Lecavalier was left out and Boyle was included. Tortorella plays him near 30 minutes (sometimes over) a night. He's arguably the most valuable player on the roster.
Boyle's not moving.
If he were to move - I'd love to see him in EDM, but it's not happening.
Look for Prospal, Fedotenko, or a secondary guy to move with a draft pick.
I posted a similiar proposal in the proposals section..
How does the follwing sound:
To TB: Lupul , Winchester and Tjarnqvist(UFA after the year)
To Edm: Boyle and Prospal (does he play LW?)
You guys downgrade your D while picking up lupul and winchester. Winchester has been very effective this year and will bring a lot of needed grit to TB
we get the offensive Dman weve been searching for and prosp might click with hemsky and sykora.

How about a deal involving Doan,Nagy, joseph for Lecavalier ? Tampa is in need of a change, as are the coyotes. Lecavalier is a great player, which is why the yotes would need to throw Doan,Nagy into the deal. Would this be enough for feaster?

The Lightning have lost four in a row and eight of its last nine. The one win they have during this stretch? An 8-0 bashing of Atlanta....
Odd part is all but two of the losses were games the Lightning outplayed their opponents...there has been a key breakdown in every loss. Obviously, something isn't right. You'll hear many reasons as to why their in this downward spiral, thing is, nobody knows for sure. There are only 6 teams in the entire league right now with a worse record than Tampa.
I fully expect either Prospal or Fedotenko, and probably Afanasenkov to be dealt, maybe along with Sarich, Janik or Richardson. This lineup is going to get a little shakeup one way or another.
Crazy part is Lecavalier and St. Louis are playing the best hockey of their careers! ???
Both are headed for career years, yes both St. Louis is on pace to best his MVP season this year.
I wouldn't leave out the possibility of Brad Richards being dealt, only because of the three hes been the least valuable this season, and his no trade clause doesn't kick in till this coming summer.
Lecavalier is playing the best hockey of his career, seemingly finally being able to tap into his full offensive arsenal. Hes not only not going to be moved because Tampa will not trade, hes also not going to be moved because he has a no-trade clause.
I wouldn't deal Lecavalier for Phoenix's whole roster.
We do not have an NHL replacement for Boyle so any trade involving Dan would require a #1 Dman in return. So basically that's not going to happen with our cap.
We need to do something about the defense. I saw several horrific turnovers by Sarich and Janik that led to Carolina breakaways, but no goals thanks to Marc standing on his head.
Prospal to Chicago is a good idea - but for whom, I haven't looked so I can't say.
Although, Torts new-found love for Prospal's defensive game - in spite of VP's -11 in the last month - may keep him in Tampa. As might his cap friendly contract.
TAMPA TRADES:Dan Boyle for OILERS DEFENCEMAN Marc Andre Bergeron
As much of an Oiler homer i am, that is the most outrageous, impossible deal, I've ever seen. You'd need to stick in a top-notch defensive prospect along with a Torres into that deal for the GM to even consider it.

Blackhawks get a top line forward who can play with Martin Havlat (better option than Petr Prucha) plus a big, tough, and mobile defensemen in Matt Smaby who can step in right now and play for the Hawks as a 6th or 7th defensemen.
Lightning get stability on the blueline for a bargin while freeing up cap space and a powerforward who can immediatly help the Falcons right now (think Ryan Craig).
OR
Vaclav Prospal ($1.9 million)
Vasily Koshechkin (yes I went there)
for
Lasse Kukkonen ($675k)
Martin St. Pierre (NHL/AHL)
Troy Brouwer (AHL)
Blackhawks: With Ramo, Helenius, and others on the horizon, Koshechkin has put up incredible numbers in the RSL and would benifit greatly from Khabibulin in Chicago plus Tretiak as a goaltending coach. What is not to like in a 6'6" goaltender?
St. Pierre? The next coming of St. Louis? Maybe not, but this kid is good (at least in the AHL). Brouwer is the second coming of Ryan Craig.
