The Titan just acquired a new FA, Aaron Kerr who was the last cut in Owen Sounds, on a trial basis.

Anyone have a video of the shootout goals from last night. Heard there were some nice ones on both sides?

I'm fastforwarding to the beginning of December. Seeing them play now, the Titan will probably be sellers at the trade deadline. I don't see them in the top 12 of the league. That said, they have a few pieces that could attract interest. So, basicaly, who leaves the team?

Do you think they have anyone that could get them another first round pick? I highly doubt they trade any of their young guys (96-97s) so you're probably looking at the older guys getting moved.

Only ones that would attract a 1st would need to be packaged together. I'm thinking maybe someone like Chapman, Godin, one of Brennan/MacDonald and Pelletier could be moved for either picks or young players

Chapman/Pelletier are going nowhere as they probably play as OAs next season with Lafontaine.

I can see Brennan being traded and maybe Soumakis.

But....why trade for late picks?

IMO the Titan will ride with what they have now and try to trade Girard and Brennan.

I doubt they go with 3 OA forwards. Of the 3, i'd be more comfortable with Lafontaine and Chapman. Pelletier doesn't domuch for me.

I also heard rumours recenly that management were really down on Zdrahal and that they would trad him without hesitating at the right price. CHSB, heard anything abut this?

Zdrahal is a very good player who was spoiled last season playing with O'Brien and Bissonnette or Beaudry.

He is a speedy skater who works very well at full speed.

But he will cough the puck too often in the offensive zone and he creates turnovers by the ton.
The skill is there, the will is there but there is frustration in his game right now as he cannot bury his chances and he is also soft.

So the rumor might have some ground as the Titan are a blue collar team this season on the rebuild.

It could make sense.

He is playing Charlottetown Islanders Midget Major. Same team as he did last year but he has disappeared. He's not scoring at all and is taking a lot of penalties.

I really don't know what to think, as Zdrahal was a building block for next season and was full of promise.

And I don't really know enough about Poulin.

Do You?

Makes sense for Rimouski, IMO. They wanted a 2nd euro, since there's didn't come over and I imagine they want to make some type of run this year... So they essentially jettison their weakest overager to acquire him, and make room for a 3rd, assuming they dump Beauchemin which I expect them to do... Bathurst on the other hand, I don't get. They give up a euro, young and one of their best players, and improve their overager situation... In a rebuilding year, and while Poulin (2nd rounder, '97) could be a nice piece, I think Rimouski wins.

I think both teams win. Bathurst needs to load up on '97' and '96 born players badly. As much as CHSB thinks that Zdrahal was a building block for next year, they have no OTHER building blocks for next year.

Bathurst has a really mediocre crop of '95 players, so Zdrahal wasn't gonna carry that crop to a top 8 finish next season. Get younger, get deeper, get more skilled. Hopefully they can flip Soumakis for some assets at christmas as well.

As for Rimouski, I have a feeling Beachemin is a stopgap, Boudreau will be available at chistmas and if healthy, would be a far superior 20 if Rimouski wants to go for it.

chsb , What's the scouting report on Yan Dumontier ?

I remember seeing him briefly and recall him playing a simple , non flashy game. Is he physical at all ? I remember he was once somewhat highly regarded, what happened ?

I will give you my report on Dumontier:
- he was not good enough to be kept on a weak Titan defense....even as a #6

- He was easily panicking under pressure in his own end.
- he had limited physicality in his play.

I find Primeau a better 19 YO than him and I am surprised to say this.

3 wins in a row for the Titan.....1 point behind Moncton with 3 games on hand.

The 2nd spot of the Division becomes suddenly attainable before Christmas....

Brennan is rising his stock for the trade period....brilliant with 4 goals against in the last 3 games.

Titan still only 1 pt behind the wildcats?

Brennan stock still on the rise.

Francois Godin trade to Quebec for a 5th.

Thought they'd be able to get more , looks like a terrible return.
