Watson over Spaling replacing the two-way role that Fisher plays is asking for a disaster.
i disagree. watson is a big boy and can translate his 2 way game here. people forget we are going through a mini rebuild phase.. at least that's my opinion.

I understand why some think that, but I disagree. The mini-rebuild occured last year and the offseason. Preds didn't bring in the guys they did to rebuild. They brought the guys in to win hockey games, which we are doing in spite of losing our top center, half our top d pair and our top goalie for good chunks here. We are built to make the playoffs, and then everyone's record is 0-0 again.

What a shame. He got his money but you just knew Detroit wasn't a good fit. Doubt if anyone claims him at that price

I wish there was still a place for him here. He brought energy to the Bridge when it was flat, but evidently did little else. I wonder what lies ahead for him.

If this is the last year of his contract he might get claimed. If not he probably spends the rest of the year as a well paid ahl player and gets bought out next summer

Bob McKenzie said that Detroit would try and trade him and either eat some money or take a contract back. Will be interesting to see what they do.

if you ant an idea of just how crazy the Western standings are right now, we are 8-5-2, which is on oace for 98 points... which would be good for a 5 or 6 seed in almost any year prior...

but right now we sit in TENTH place...out of 14 teams...

With the shake-up in the coaching staff in Florida, could a shake-up on the roster be next? If so, with the Nashville connection, could their be some moves between the 2 teams?

Kevin Dineen out in Florida. Peter Horacheck has been named as interim head coach.

Guess us letting him go worked out fairly well for everybody! Well, except Kevin Dineen, obviously.

Wish Horachek luck in Florida he's going to need it. They are -25 in goal diff. They can't score and can't keep it out of their own net.

let the pacific beat each other up rather than play all the east teams.

The difference between this season and the past is the fact that the west and east all play each other twice. That means a lot more points for the west teams given how weak a lot of the east teams are. There aren't going to be as many games of the west beating up on each other.
The top teams aren't going to sustain the hot streaks they are on over 82 games but it is going to be tough to make the playoffs being in the west even if the preds have a good season.

I get why the oilers would want Bryz but why are they trading Smid?
