i've used chrome all along, too - including on my macbook - until something happened and it decided to reject chrome and pretty much any browser but safari. i don't want to do a wipeout b/c except for the freezes and the problems w/ continually loading to bluescreen i'm not having problems w/ any other aspect. .. and when i say 'blue screen' it's not an actual crash b/c i load past the apple logo on start up.

the other problem is, like i said, work-related...my boss pulled rank to get me set up on mac (when no one else was allowed to) but it's going to be a headache getting my co to pay for repairing stuff.

as an aside - it sounds like a couple of you prefer firefox to chrome. can you tell me why (i don't mean that in a rude way...it's just my experience w/ firefox has been mostly negative and i love chrome).

I assume my firefox issues with my laptop are due to a problem with the comp itself. I had to get a new HD for it a a few years back and could never get windows to install properly(update won't work). But the desktop i just got back in july. low-midlevel gaming desktop and for some reason firefox occasionally gives me problems with flash. Stopped using firefox on my phone because it started being a slow POS. Not sure what mozilla did, but their **** fell off a cliff IMO.

Have finally made a decision on where to move, and will be moving December 12th. Ended up passing on buying for now, so have an 18 month lease at where we will be. Can't ****ing wait!

Firefox has improved a lot over the last few years. Chrome is no longer the clear winner for me like it used to be. They're neck-and-neck in terms of performance and memory usage, and Firefox feels just as snappy.

I flip back and forth between them every few months. At this point, I don't think there's much separating the two.

Hogwild is great, they have really good ribs when they have them on special too. It's only like one day a week though.

So I'm about 99% sure that I'm going to be either getting an iPad Air or the new mini with retina display.

For those familiar with tradition iPads and the minis, is the larger screen worth $100 more?

I prefer the mini and ditched my normal sized one for it. Much more comfortable to use IMO, especially with one hand if you're not going to be typing super long emails and such. The regular ones size just felt awkward to hold pretty much all the time unless you're going to prop it up in a case or something.

I was leaning towards the mini for the exact reasons Ray just said.

As long as there's a Retina display, I don't need extra size on the thing. I wouldn't really be typing on it, only reading and watching Netflix. And if I'm watching something on my iPad, it's guaranteed to be within 5 feet of my face so extra size would be unnecessary.

Yeah, leaning that way, too.

Would essentially only use it to browse the web at work, watch NHL games and YouTube, and light gaming. Only downside is that the retina display mini isn't out yet.

Scratch that, leaning to the 16 gig iPad Air, because I'm fickle like that.

I suck royally at remembering to set my fantasy hockey lineups. Arrggh. Need to start doing so like a week ahead of time so at least something is in place even if I decide to change/tweak as the week goes on.

Was just listening to a little John Frusciante and whilst doing so my girlfriend's cat was nodding his head to the music. Epic.

Yeah I just picked up an Air as well. It's ridiculously fast too, no load times for anything really

And I'm going to be using the heck out of it at work today, as the title company is inexplicably open on a bank holiday, my office subsequently has no closings today, I can't work on HUDs with bank lenders as they're all off, and I'm already done with my one upcoming cash deal, so I might very well be done with my workload already for the day.

Oh well, not complaining about getting paid to do nothing.

Well, some good did come out of today. Thanks to me using my iPad, was able to find out that the work's wireless is very slow and prone to randomly dying.

Reported the issue to our company's overall IT.

Even when I'm trying to not do work, I end up doing work.

****ing snow, and it isn't even Thanksgiving yet.

The good news today is that I found out I don't have skin cancer on the growth I had removed a few days back.
