IIRC Crosby was misdiagnosed as having severe concussions when infact it was spine problems that were causing severe headaches or something along those lines.

Hopefully nothing as severe with nash, though.

Of course this was coming from a man with no neck at all. So consider the source.
It might be worth looking into.

I trust the source. NYR very tight lipped. Best news is rick Nash is making progress.
Funny, they were just talking about the Rangers on XM HNIC. And I think it was Glenn Healy said that from what he heard, Rick Nash was making almost no progress since the hit.

Yep, only a few select people know that Nash is not on the ice for practices and is missing from the game lineup.

Come on, everyone in the league knows that Nash has missed a bunch of games since he got hit in the head. Even if he was healthy, the Rangers would be looking for more scoring.

As for reporting the situation: there is nothing to report. Until the symptoms are gone and Nash can start working out without setbacks, there is no reason for the team to say anything. The fact that he's not on the ice speaks much louder than any puff press release.

That would be par for the course.

This board makes far more conversation out of misinformation than actual facts about the team.

Dreger and McKenzie were on NHL Tonight and were asked about Nash. Dreger said Nash isn't close yet but he has been working hard at getting back and has been skating on his own. He may have said every day but I missed it. He also said the Rangers have been relying on the concussion specialist from Michigan that was mentioned earlier in the thread. He said the name of the doctor but I didn't catch it either. I'm sure the segment will be shown multiple times tonight.

Bobby Mac and Dregs are on NHLN right now and said Nash has been skating on his own and meeting with specialists to begin therapy but said it could be a month at least until he's ready. Basically more of the same we've been hearing, but very intriguing to hear he's been skating every day according to Dreger, considering we hadn't heard that he even was at the facility until yesterday... Interesting...

Larry Brooks reporting Nash has skated on his own at the facility periodically, but still no signs of imminent returns.

Nash, who has been examined by Michigan-based concussion specialist, Dr. Jeffrey Scott Kutcher, remains sidelined for an indefinite period of time. The Post has learned the winger has skated on his own periodically at the club’s training facility, but there is no expectation of an imminent return from the concussion he sustained in San Jose on Oct. 8.

So the Rangers proceed without Nash for, you would have to believe, at least another two-to-three weeks on a best-case scenario. If calling Vigneault new has gotten old, so has citing the absence of No. 61 for the team’s halting 7-8-0 start.

Jeff Klein of the Times yesterday.

Quote:
Nash now has a history of head trauma, just as Crosby does. The question is whether Nash’s road to recovery will be as long and ultimately as successful as Crosby’s.

The Rangers deny reports that Nash has sought out the same Georgia concussion specialists Crosby turned to when other therapies did not seem to be working.

The team also declined to comment on whether Nash had seen doctors from Michigan NeuroSport, the University of Michigan sports neurology program. That group is headed by Dr. Jeffrey Kutcher, who is a consultant with the N.H.L. Players’ Association and the USA Hockey national developmental team program.

In an email Wednesday, Kutcher declined to comment on whether he was treating Nash.

Tomorrow we will find out Nash has seen or will be seeing the the concussion specialists in Georgia. The Rangers denied the Sportsnet reports. Those were true. The Sportsnet guys(Shannon & Johnston)mentioned the doctor was from Michigan. Someone is talking. It must drive the Garden crazy they can't control the flow of information.

See, this is where they drive me crazy. They'd be able to control the flow of information if they actually provided information. Since they don't, people dig.

Georgia... those are the "gyroscope" guys that worked with Crosby?
