Gorges for a gritty forward

think of a player similar to mcginn. but yea, i doubt colorado would trade him now that they moved downie. anywho, any offers?

were mostly looking for young established players however prospects could work too if they have good potential and are close to being NHL ready

I'll make the obligatory "Habs can't afford to trade Gorges" post.

Really... the Habs' D isn't so hot, even once Emelin comes back, that they can afford to trade a reliable defender like Gorges for a role player up front. Even if you just consider Gorges a "role player" himself, he's at a more important position on D. Habs won't trade him for any of the kinds of players the OP seems to be asking for in this thread.

i know we cant afford to trade him, im just having fun trying to armchair gm. we got polak back from a diff deal w/ STL and we can still potentially resign diaz, emelin - diaz could be a decent 3/4 especially when you have a solid 5/6 like polak and tinordi

LET ME LIVE IN MY FANTASY WORLD. the real world is too painful to live in when we have players like DD and briere

Clifford is the only player we have that's close to that.

Back to the old Brouwer+ for Gorges+ ideas?

Because if Habs think Gorges is expendable i really think that is great deal for both sides.

I'd like something around Wilson and Gorges, but doubt Washington wants to trade him. Still, we do kind of need Gorges.

Clifford +...? Surely you don't mean straight up. But that said, why do the Kings need Gorges?

Kule isn't gritty in the sense of mixing it up or intimidating, but he hits like a truck on the fore check and is really tough to move off the puck.

Would love Goerges On the Isles...I would have thought his value is more than a 3rd liner, is he not playing well?

"3rd liner" in the sense of a mcginn-esque player , theres a difference. a young'ish powerforward 3rd liner that has the potential to move up your LU
plus a 2nd rounder or something around that

Most definitely. Because we need a steady partner for Doughty. To me Coburn would be ideal but Gorges would work as well.

Colin Greening? Guy is inconsistent to say the least. Needs to play angry to play well.
Sounds like you want a zach smith guy though. I'd do Smith for gorges but montreal would have to add.

I don't think we can afford to lose Gorges right now esp with Emelin coming off serious injury. Our D is still very, very thin.

Sorry, but we need more than a mediocre bottom 6 forward with limited upside.

keep dreaming.
1) no to greening
2) smith is worth much less than gorges. Shot blocking top 4 dmen are harder to find than 3rd liners

it is. OP doesn't know what he's talking about value wise. 99% of these offers are ****
